That was some decent shipping. Don't know if I'm crazy about the hamon, but it's etched, anyway, so whatever. Polish if off if I had to, I guess... Anyway, so, is it huge, or just big?

from holding it is very front heavy and the hamon is rather fake.the edge is like a knife edge but shorter.i have not cut the mats yet but i will do the test today and show some pictures later.i can not show how i cut them because i don't have anybody to take the pictures sorry.

Well, that's pretty disappointing. Probably fault of the geometry, that bevel (I hear) will mess things up good (the one the blade started with), but then the sheer mass of the sword doesn't much allow itself for clean slicing of small targets, either, I imagine. Shame about the tang, too. Have you tried to disassemble it to verify? So it seems the only thing this sword really has going for it is size. That's a shame, I want a big sword, but this one doesn't seem to be the one. Though it bears the advantage in the price realm... Any chance you might try altering the geometry a bit? Maybe a proper polishing? Would you be up to it? Anybody else think it'd be a good (or bad?) idea? Am I asking too many questions in this paragraph? Anyway, sorry it's not so good. Hopefully you find a way to improve it, maybe, or just enjoy it for what it is.

this test i admit was on a rush but i did try my best of what i know. this sword i say cuts like a stainless steel one. it has the same style of the blade made.i say if you want to get this sword get it. just take it or send it to someone to have it sharpen on a stone.

Yeah, the first few pics of the blade gave me the impression of a stainless wallhanger. I knew Musashi had beveled edges on some models, but I had hoped these were a thing of the past. I guess my last request to you, then, is if you could try to find a way to get a shot of yourself holding this thing for a good size comparison?

I have to say that as "functional" as musashi advertise this as it is just too unwieldy to be a good cutter. I think that if you go over a certain length with a production blade that you lose the harmonics and geometries of the blade working properly. To make a long blade that works the way a sword should takes considerably more work than just making a production level katana. Good review, too bad about not being about to cut with it.

Not bad. Have you tried the tatami again yet? Maybe soak it this time?
