I know this is even more nerdy than expected from this forum (not that we're nerd or anything...pfft), but I would really like to see some functional versions of the swords from Elder Scrolls: IV Oblivion. Sure, some of them are quite simple, and should therefore be quite easy to make functional. In particular the Steel Longsword, and Iron longsword. The Ebony weapons are attractive, but would be difficult to get right :/
there's my nerdy (I mean...not...nerdy) input!

A fantasy viking sword like the one windlass made but a longsword version with a hand and a half grip. Instead of horns on the pommel, I would have have viking axes moving downwards. Blade would be about 35 inches.

How about the glass-hilted Venetian cup-hilt rapier from Moonraker?
You could do the cup hilt in Lexan or one of the bullet-resistant polymers available today. Don't know how well they would mold into a curved/cupped shape, but maybe?
(Yes. In addition to swords, RenFaires, medievalism, fantasy and sci-fi, I'm also a total 007 geek. Amazing I've found women to marry me... Twice!)

Two more... Sorry, but such a fun and thought-provoking thread.
How about the Elvin Mindsword from "Hawk the Slayer"? With the fist pommel holding the glowing green stone. Just watched it a few days ago. Hadn't seen it since I was like 11 y/o and it was on heavy daily rotation to fill time on Showtime. Jeez it was bad. Like really bad. Probably another looooonnnng time before I watch it again, unless I can come up with a whiskey drinking game to go with it.
As long on the subject of early '80 cheez-whiz fantasy movies, there's also the three-bladed, rocket-powered sword from "The Sword and the Sorceror".

I would love a functional version of the Assassin's creed garb. Weapons and armors alike.

I would love either Michael's sword from Legion or the sword of Perseus from the new Clash of the Titans. Battle ready versions of course...

Ice from "A Song of Ice and Fire". (Spoiler) Who else thinks Tywin Lannister got what was coming to him after melting it down?

Not sure if this was mentioned, but how about Patrick Swayze's sword from Steel Dawn? I loved the sword when I was a kid, but not really practical with such a fine tip.

I´ve always admired the swords shown on some of the covers of Edgar Rice Burroughs John Carter of Mars books. Albion did a copy of one a few years ago. I´d like to see a version of the sword held by the warrior in the bottom right corner of this cover of The Chessmen of Mars. A bastard sword with a long Type XVa (?) blade and neat looking hilt. Would probably be a slick thrust and cut sword.

I don't know...I just wish he'd hurry and finish the new book =/. No kidding. I just read that HBO will be airing a mini series adaptation sometime next year. I looked the cast over...not so bad really. They got the girl that played the queen in 300 to play Cercei. Hopefully they're bright enough to dye her hair blonde lol. Not to mention dying all the Stark's hair black etc. I think the guy they cast as the new Conan is in it too...as Khal Drago. I just hope it's better than the Sword of Truth set they did lol. Cris

Swords from Ice and Fire would be cool. In Valyrian steel with the red ripples...
Hoping Martin gets that next book out soon. I'm guessing he's waiting for the mini-series to be playing on the tube first, so there's that much more buzz for a $30.00 hardcover.
Also waiting on the next Rothfus book in the "Kvothe" series.
Maybe I should change my handle to ToscanoRR576...

I'd like to have the Mind Sword from Hawk the Slayer. I was not allowed to watch Conan the Barbarian as a kid, so I chain watched Hawk the Slayer over and over.
