Like I could lift a steel version of that monster anyway

The version I have in mind will stay true to the concept but will be a usable sword. I have it fairly well planned out but don't know when I'll get the time to make it. Won't be the enormous monster from the game but will be clearly based on it.

Whoa, Jeff! Are you going to carve all those fearsome demons into the steel for this? That would be quite a piece of work!

Hey greybeard, No, that would definitely be too heavy. I was thinking of doing a fairly wide blade but not nearly so wide as the game version. Then cutting a very deep wide fuller into it. Then doing the sculpted parts in aluminum which would then be inset into the fullers. Certainly not the most usable blade design but should be doable. It will be some time before I can get to it though. Back burner project. I really like the conceptual look of it though. Thanks hairu I do enjoy the ridiculous ;D

Carved aluminum inserts - still quite a piece of work!!
I know about back-burner projects, Jeff, but I'm gonna wind up my patience for this one!!! If anybody can do this, its you, dude. You definitely gotta let us drool over this whenever you get to it!

After introducing my son to this movie yesterday, I just remembered how much I actually want this particular sword. Although today we're watching "Excalibur" so lots of cool swords there also. However, the Syrian Sabre from Odinblades is still tops on my list. I'm not sure of the details, but I stumbled across this one: www.factoryent.com/pbinigo.html

Thanks for the link Orion, but I have a feeling those "limited editions" they are talking about on the website are either going to be wall hangers, or just plain out of my price range. Worth keeping an eye on though.

Impossible to pick just one sword...you didn't include anime in the list, but I think these count as fantasy swords:
(If anyone watches Bleach, they'll know what these swords look like:)
Category of "because it would be freaking crazy to have that on the wall even if it is practically impossible to use!" -Zangetsu -Sogyo no Kotowari -Sode no Shirayuki -Katen Kyokotsu -Wabisuke -Fuji Kujaku (I know, it's actually Ruri'iro Kujaku)

Stormbringer sure ! Raven's armoury design is butt-ugly IMO, which is sad cause they have numerous sweet-looking designs ! Corwin's Greyswandir in the nine prince of Amber sadly there's not much of a good description anywhere ( that i can remember ) i read those books so many years ago ! ( and without mentioning the fact that it might alter its appearence with the pattern... )

Wander's sword from Shadow of the Colossus would be pretty great to have too, that just occurred to me today. Probably wouldn't be too expensive to have someone make it either.
No, I wasn't able to find a good picture online for those of you unfamiliar with it, sorry.

I'd love to have Dragnipurake from the Maalazan Books of the Fallen series. Also wouldn't mind having Karsa Orlong's Sword, Daseem Ultor's Ssword, T'onos Tools's Sword or Kalam's daggers. Those were such AWESOME books. Very under appreciated. They had such a huge scope...and a flavor that reminded me of The Black Company books. SO cool. Cris

I think it's in the first part of the first book where they're basically 'introducing' him. The books are in storage though...so I have no way of checking now. Gives you a place to look though. Cris

I would LOVE to have all 17 great weapons from Steven Brust's Dragaeran novels made... that would be epic.

I would've liked the Bereaver, from the original Fable.

Grayswandir. Definitely. Favorite books. I recal it was a one handed saber, ornate guard like a Papp'heimer, but more swept-hilt than clam shell. There's a glimpe of it on Corwin's trump in the "Visual Guide to Castle Amber". (Corwin looks just like Timothy Dalton in the 80's. Maybe Zelazny was hoping to entice Hollywood. Could still happen. Hope.)
Also Inigo's rapier would be cool.
Oh, this is my first post. Such a killer forum. I've been reading all over it while waiting for my membership to be approved. Really nice to see a group that is passionate, very well informed, good senses of humor, and who all seem to act like grown-ups. Looking forward to learning tons more.
Thanks!
