Yeah, I saw the Fable version, it's nice, but I dunno, it doesn't really fit my personal vision of the sword, the leaves on the grip make it look kinda delicate. The way I see it in my mind, it's a big one, maybe a XIIa blade with forward-curved quillions, a round trailer-hitch pommel and just a little of that Peter Jackson elvish embellishment. Maybe somewhere down the line I can find someone to do me up a custom job! Ebon, which thread does Odingaard talk about the Windlass Blacksword? I can't seem to find it.

The great thing about swords in Literature is that when each person reads they imagine a different sword. I'd be happy to make you your own from your sketches and specs etc when you are ready. I'm pretty stoked about a XIIa blade I am doing right now for my ranger sword. It's beautiful (IMO)

Brendan did a pretty excellent job with Gurthang. It's different from how I envisioned but it's got some awesome styling cues. I like the uneven ricasso (though I'd probably get an even one were it me) but I've gotta say I LOVE the pommel he did for it. If I ever get one from Brendan it'll have that pommel. Of course, it would look bad mixed with the Orcrist guard (which I also love dearly)...

Conan's Father's sword is the one on the left (well one of those without the bolster on the ricasso) right? If so, I think I like that one better of the two. sneakypete, MRL made a good looking, but flimsy, replica of Gurthang and called it Blacksword- which is what it means in Quenya anyways; Odingaard handled it and said it was crap, basically. Yeah Ebon the Father's or master's sword is the one on the left with the Elk skull crossgaurd. Truly gorgeous.

Sneaky: Bren's swords are anything but delicate mate and when you remove the leaf it is a very nasty looking sword indeed.

Thanks ChrisA, I'd looked at the blacksword, but it didn't really blow my skirt up. Now I know for sure to pass it over!
Bloodwraith: I totally wasn't implying that Bren's blades were delicate, just that this particular one didn't fit my personal style choice. I hope I didn't offend anyone!
Brendan: I'll save my cash, and get back to ya! I'm not ready for any custom work yet, but maybe in a year or two...

Zeclaymore: Nice list and very close to my own, though I have to ask which of Sparhawk's swords? His formal blade or his plain broadsword?

Sparhawk's broadsword from the Elenium Bevier's lochaber from the Elenium Stragen's rapier from the Elenium Ulath's war axe from the Elenuim Kring's saber from the Elenium YES! yes yes yes. Reading through this thread, lots of things were cool. Some neat. But nothing really spoke to me until this was brought up. The Elenium can be credited(or blamed ) for cementing my interest in swords, fantasy, and eventually historical arms. I'd also throw in Tynian's sword. (And his armor, but that's a topic for a different thread.) Thank you for the reminder.

I'd love to have Dragnipurake from the Maalazan Books of the Fallen series. Also wouldn't mind having Karsa Orlong's Sword, Daseem Ultor's Ssword, T'onos Tools's Sword or Kalam's daggers.
