I've made another video sword review, and again it is for a Darksword Armory product. This one is their Black Death Gothic sword which is inspired by the XVIIIa type swords of the 15th century. This sword is quite a bit different than the other swords I've gotten from DSA and I find it to be very attractive and fairly well balanced. It handles really nicely and seems to be well made but not 'overbuilt' like so many older swords from DSA were. They seem to have really stepped up their game. From previous postings here I know that I will get asked about distal taper ( or lack of ) on this blade and as far as I can tell there is no discernible distal taper. Blade width is 3/16ths" pretty much all the way down the blade. As a backyard cutter I really find that this sword isn't a great cutter but I am going to try to give it a bit better edge and try again. Anyway, I hope you enjoy my review video as I had a lot of fun making this one and even talked my wife into dressing up as a white walker

Love your Nights Watch outfit... your vid reviews always take it to another level. The Black Death is one of the better looking DSA swords... I like the look of it quite a bit.

Thankyou for your vid, I really enjoyed your GoT roleplay, nice outfit btw. It's posts like yours that make me re look at the DSA site, but I've never been able to pull the trigger with all the bad press and the fear that I might get a lemon, and with Oz postage costs ill be stuck with it. I've always loved the look and stats of the knight bastard sword, I might pluck up the courage and order one

Paul, if you read some DSA reviews and discussions on these forums from a couple of years ago you will see that the reviewers were already, at that time, mentioning that DSA was making better swords than the ones before that were getting less than favorable reviews. I think that like most other manufacturers they continue to evolve and improve and hopefully take notice of the critique. I now own several DSA swords and I have no complaints about any of them ( keeping in mind that I have never handled a 'high end' sword like, say, a Jody Sampson, or an Atrim or even a Tinker, for that matter. ). I paid , on average, about $100 less per sword for my Hanweis and they are total crap compared to the DSAs. I also have an older version DSA Black Knight sword that I bought second-hand here on the SBG forums a couple of years ago and although I like it a lot I can easily see the differences between it and my newer DSA swords.
