Jody Sampson is a VERY fine swordmaker. If you want to buy from him, you will be satisfied. believe me . There are some reviews in myarmoury if you want to check it out. This mans work is one of the best I've seen for fantasy weapons.

Jody is the guy that made the original Conan movie swords...
He does not forge them, however and is not a smith.
Jody's blades are made by stock removal.
Very nice, and you would certainly be happy with any of them.

Nice fantasy swords. That site is fun to look through. The swords are insanely priced.

Those are some really cool designs. Terribly expensive.

I think that odinblades.com are much better and have a much wider range and seem to know more about the actual physics not just the looks.

I've only seen a couple of the swords, but they felt pretty heavy to me. I do think that the Conan sword is one of the most useless swords that I ever seen. We sold it, after all, I needed to make a living, but when asked about it I had to tell the truth. I don't know whether Jody designed it or merely followed instruction, but it was obvious that whoever did design it knew nothing about swords and sword play.

What does "lost wax" castings mean?
Almost all the guards and pommels are made this way. I know what a casting is but its the "lost wax" im lost on

Justin,Lost wax casting has been around for a couple of thousand years at least. The original design is made in wax. This is then covered with the mold material, leaving a few gates. The hot metal is then poured into the mold, and the metals burns out the wax which is flows out one of the gates or is turned to vapor. This leaves the core which will be in the exact shape of the wax master. Properly done and with care and you get very good results with little or no cleanup.

I have heard a lot of good things about that site and the smith who runs it, he has a few listed on his site that are obviosly based on The Lord of the Rings movies and are fully funcional (but also quite expensive)
