Not sure, but it looks French... Probably some 19th century French officer sword... But it might be from somewhere else as well as Americans for example copied some french patterns...

I'd second Luka, looks French or French-influenced, 19th cen sabre. I might hazard the guess of an infantry sabre, mid-late 19th cen, but I'm no expert. Does it have any markings on it, ie, stamps from a manufacturer?

It's most probably a Spanish sword made around the second half of the 19th century. Normally a special symbol like a flaming grenade, crossed cannons or coat of arms should be in the branches and this one doesn't but still I'd say cavalry officer sword.

I've seen similar style cav saber hilts on non regulation 1870 ish French sabers. Agree with Pinot that the florals look more Spanish.
