Hey all! Quick question, I was looking for opinions on the best place to take my little short-sword design to get it custom-made. I have the guys over at Enlightenment Swords going over designs right now, and they seem to be capable of making it well enough. But, having this forum at my disposal, I just had to take this chance to see what you guys thought. It's a very simple design, short ( I mean SHORT) Katana-esque blade, small oval hand-guard, 9-in. handle with Ring-Pommel. I want a really sturdy blade, one that can handle some punishment, which leads me to ask for input. Do you guys have another idea for the blade profile to make it a little more resilient? Slightly bellied, reminiscent of the typical Chinese/Wushu Dao, maybe? I just really like short-swords, quick, (relatively) concealable, and stealthy, and as utilitarian as feasible (Why I love my Hanwei Banshee). Anyways, here is a rough mock-up. Measurements: Blade- 16-17 in. Handle- 9-9 and 1/2 in. (including Ring Pommel) Very Minimal, oval guard, with possible Habaki or Chinese styled blade-collar Again, I would love your collective input! thats a pretty sweet design, you might want to check in with scorpion swords, they do very nice short swords and the prices are hard to beat for full customs. Id like to tackle that design myself, but my heat treat forge is too small for the blade length.

Thanks, Saito! Helpful as always. Also, you're more than welcome to steel the design, tweak it, and make it to what ever measurements suit your set-up (corny pun intended). If you do, definitely let me know how it turns out!
