Well whatever looks good Personally I find the most appealing blades to be those that fall under the oakshott system of catagorization.

Hey Adam, when you get a chance, could you send me a copy of the PDF? I'd love to see it.
I don't have any projects, but if any come up I'll be glad to post them here!

We are going to be looking at the overall design to include functionality (we don't want to end up with some sort of Kit Rae monstrosity either). So far we have had a huge response and if it continues to grow we may even break it into two categories (historical and fantasy) and select two winners. This is just a thought and not set in stone yet.

trueswordsman, You'd have my overwhelming thanks if you did the above proposal. Hopefully, I'm not the only person submitting historical swords?
Pm sent, as well.

Rammstein has some great stuff... I wish I knew how to properly shade... in retrospect, I should've paid attention in art class in highschool...
Anyway, I'm just about done modifying a kukri design of mine... it's still much more of a big knife than a sword... I hope that's okay.
I'm hoping that the lack of kukris in the market, coupled with Hank Reinhardt's love of them will lend some credence to the design... not that Hank has anything to do with Gen. 2 really...except his own collection coming out... now I'm rambling... sorry.

hm...I took an art clas in 9th grade but I only learned how to do pastel. I learned how to shade and draw with pencil by myself I'm glad to hear you like it! I'm always elated when people like my work.

For some reason Paul's link was not working, so here it is again. I hope this one works. www.valorswords.com/SwordCompetition.phpKeep those designs coming. And I have decided there will be two winners one in the historical and one in the fantasy division!!

yay! now I don't have to write up a pesky story line, rather I can focus solely on the design. w00t!
Thanks trueswordsman!

Trueswordsman, about how many people are entering this contest ;D!?
if you had to split it into 2 categories, you must have a lot of entries.

Yes, we are getting a lot of entrees, some people have entered multiple designs which is fine. We are getting some great designs and I wish I could share them, but you'll just have to wait. We are going to stop taking entrees after January 31st.
Just keep them coming!

well I'm just happy that this sort of splits the competition in half. Twice as many people have a chance to win, by my pathetic logic!!!
oh, and I'm not doing anything against the rules sharing designs via pm am I?

I just had to scrap my alternating fuller design....I just horribly ripped the page in half..
Starting on a new #5 now, (oakshott type D pommel, since it automatically changes the word to "thingy") c. hat pommel, cord riser in the middle of the grip, curved guard, and type Xa blade is what I've came up with so far.
