What excactly was wrong with the finish, Viking? Explain what you mean more please. I just talked to Jason on the phone and he stated you said the same thing, not very specific. That would help. He said he has sold allot of these and this is the first. So please it would help to know more of what you mean, instead of just posting like this.

vikingman - of your first few posts, most of them are pretty negative and non-specific as to the issues. Often retailers and manufacturers have people criticizing their work or service - and in some cases, it is justified. However, when you arrive on a forum like this and from one of your first posts are very reactionary and unclear, people may assume that you are just trying to stir up trouble or get something for nothing (typing in all-caps usually puts people off of you, too).
People frequently post on this forum about their experiences, and Clyde and Jason are both active members who try their best to address legitimate issues. If you're interested in having your concerns taken more seriously, try toning it down a little, being more clear in what you're saying and I'm sure people will try their best to help you.

HI CLYDE LIKE I SAID THE BLADE WAS VERY GOOD AND SHARP. THE WOOD HANDLE IS CRACKED ON 3- POINTS .THE STEEL PLATE THAT THE BLADE GOES IN LOOKS LIKE IT WAS FITTED WITH A CHAIN SAW VERY VERY ROUGH SLOPPY ECT . THE FINISH ON THE HANDLE PARTS LOOK LIKE SOMEBODY HAS ALREADY WENT TO WAR WITH MY SWORD AND THEY LOST THE BATTLE . LIKE I SAID I THOUGHT ALOT MORE OF YOUR GEN-2 AND A.O V UNTIL NOW .WELL THATS ALL THE KIND WORDS I CAN SAY ON THIS FOURM GEN-2 AND A.O.V ARE A BIG LET DOWN FOR ME. We are sorry and would like to make it right. Our steel plate where the blade goes into is usually smooth with a tight finish, but that is not to say sometimes when they are rushed to finish an order that sometimes stuff like like happens. The wood is shaped for the handle by hand and smoothed and stained and clear coated. The cracks we do apologize about. I have been looking into other ways to do this sword because unless the wood is treated now and again with Boiled Linseed Oil it will dry and when wood dries, it shrinks and as tight as our handle and tangs fit. I do not like this problem. I will be buying up large amounts of Boiled Linseed Oil to ship so they can treat all the wood handles once complete. But please call Jason and let him know what you want to do and I can open once and treat it here and get a replacement out to you, but in all fairness you will need to go through him. But I agree with Daniel, posting like this is not good, we have sold hundreds of these and the Maintz, and occasionally things happen. But we and AoV have good customer service.

Still, one slightly damaged piece does not negate the customer service or value of Aov and Gen2. I wouldn't mind seeing some pictures of the damage if you have a camera, viking.

Vikingman, your e-mail to AoV was very vague and did not describe the problems you just now described. We will definitely take care of it and find a solution that fits your desires.

Pictures man, Pictures! Every time I make a return, I take a picture of the damage. That way people know I'm not lying. I'm not saying you are lying, but we need pictures to be certain.
And stop with the capital letters. No need for yelling, we can hear you fine.

Make sure you keep the bloody caps lock key turned off, it gives me headaches trying to read when someone is screaming at me.

Yeah got your PM didn't appreciate it, don't do it again. You had a single bad experience and that swears you off for good? That is a bit of a ridiculous position to take, there are many many members who have had great experiences and Clyde and the AoV guys and Paul are some of the best guys around, so maybe take three seconds to think, post pics or be specific to start with. It would get you better responses. You also might want to watch your language, just a friendly reminder that this is a friendly family forum.

It's not a ridiculous position to take.
If you brned your hand touching fire and then someone told you to do it again because the fire was cold...would you do it?
First impressions matter most, and, while I don't agree, I can see why he was turned off.
However, vikingman, you're being a little blunt here. Firstly, lets turn of caps lock. Secondly, lets try acting a bit more professional, alright?
