The nut goes over the end of the grip, then the pommel screws on, yes; as far as I know. To my knowledge, they SHOULDN'T strip or be prone to falling off; Darksword's been in business for a good while now, and their business is stage combat, so I think they know how to build a sword to last. I wouldn't worry about them.

If anything, they would start to loosen upon usage long before falling off. A simple solution is to use loctite.

my Hanwei ww2 sprecial forces knife is made the same way. Sometimes that nut comes loose under the pommel but the pommel itself is still freakin tight, so it wouldnt come apart unless the pommel came off and there is no way youd miss both coming loose. when the nut comes loose you feel it right away in the grip. In my opinion this construction is perfectly acceptable.also it makes it easy to take apart if need be.

They used to, and, technically still do. But, they are also peened now I bought mine expecting a screw on, and got a peened sword, then noticed that everyone else was saying good things about the new peened pommel. All swords are peened, except for the following: Anduril Oslo viking black knight
