Hello` Seth and everybody.. I`ve been reading the posts here about DSA`s Ranger sword. So I asked "Eyal" the owner about it.. and he sent me a fast reply ....He has said. Hi Jason, This will be the last batch of Ranger and Anduril swords. We want to move away from the Lord of the Rings thing after this production. We have 8 Boromir's left and 6 Elf swords left as well. These will be terminated once they are sold out. We are not making any more of these in the present production. The Ranger sword is 5 lbs 4 oz. It handles very well for such a huge sword. The blade is 2.3" wide and the POB is 3.5" from the guard. Thanks Jason...... I tell you what I`d like one of those Rangers myself!!! What a beast!!! Eyal the owner has always taken my questions with good replys... How many other sword company owners take the time to talk to the customers?? hope this helps.. Jason Woodard

Humm thats kind of a shame...I actually like how the ranger looked...and balanced at 3.5 inches is great...just too heavy. I may pick up their kinght for the type XIV sword (the other one I'm looking at is the AT one)...but the albion(s) come first (and I am getting a custom job from matrix very first because that is just too cool). If garret gets his sword at the opertune time, I may have to pick up a jian right after the first albion hehe. Sigh too many swords...not enough money.

From my understanding, if the point of balance is closer to the guard, the lighter it feels, whether it is really light or not. Yes that is true. It will feel lighter and "lively" when you put the sword in motion. When not in motion however, that entire weight is in your hand(s). But consider that most sword of that size historically weight 2 full lbs less...that is 80% extra weight...it is a bit on the excessive side. Also having a PoB that far back makes it good for thrusting as it aids in point control...but with THAT much weight, point control kinda goes out the window. Since the blade style remind me of a type XVI, it does look like a blade that can thrust...if properly weighted and balanced. It does looks to be a good cutter however as with that mass, even with the PoB so far back, it WILL have enough blade presence. Since I never held one however, this is all speculation based on the general statistics of the sword. There are swords that will surprise you after all...and there is also the subjective aspects that can never really be factored in (i.e. personal taste...for instance I never met a type XIV I didn't like...course I prefer how other blade styles look better however...like the XII and XV(a) and XVI(a) and XVIII).

Hello` Great point!! Personal taste is everything.. I have the DSA`s Templar I bet the Ranger is very close to it in how it preforms. The Templar Is the toughest and biggest sword I own.. It is very well balanced for such a huge sword..I really enjoy target cutting with it...I`d put it up against anything out there... If you want one of these swords from DSA. Better jump on it fast! They will go quick.. Take care Jason Woodard

for durability I would recommend either the knight or the Gothic (Gothic is prettier). The leaf bladed dark age sword is probably best for cutting, but I still recommend the Gothic or knight.

Okay, musical... Seriously, this one's almost a year old. No one's even having this conversation anymore.

This reminds me of Hotfuzz. You know, when that camera watching guy spots that human statue and makes a big deal about it but no one else really finds it important... Lmao.

There are others who find Thread-o-mancy a bit agrivating... it's just one of those things... different strokes for different folks. As long as I am the one getting stroked. ;D

As long as I am the one getting stroked. ;D LOL mp, think of it this way: If just a couple more people did the same thing, new topics with relevant conversations would be buried before they ever got a chance to answer anything. It's just simple courtesy to not kill new topics just so you can input into a conversation that ended a year ago. No offense meant by any of that, but it gets annoying. Better to find that out sooner than later, at least in my mind. On several of my other forums, users would be warned, and then banned if it continued. It's generally considered a form of spam at best, for the reasons I listed above.
