Good ol' Lindy has come out with a vid about long bows and I thought I would share with folks here. I know there is a few SBGers who are interested in Longbows so this little ramble is something some might enjoy, I sure did. Some points about longbows

Ahhh I remember this guy. Definitely hit and miss. Regarding the glove on the bow hand, I was shooting for an hour bare knuckle yesterday and I don't even have a scratch. Also, if you're getting some substantial string slap when you shoot, it's due to poor technique rather than the need to get a thick bracer. Try relaxing the shoulder and moving your bow arm in to the centre of your body. Bracers were also used to protect your Jack from fraying if the string happened to brush it and could also protect your string from fraying if you were wearing Mail.
I do partially agree with the time it takes to train though. It took English archers around a decade to train because they started around 8 years old. An adult with no physical disabilities could be drawing a 100 pound War Bow in a year easily.
