Had about 5 downtimes (IF they are downtimes!) during the last 3 weeks, up to 10-15 hours!?

I am in the process of tuning the server for the forum to allow for minimal resources. The original issues with the database server going byebye should be fixed but there may be some need for further adjustments. Sorry about any inconvenience this may cause.

Really? It was just down for me this morning... but if it's going well for you it might be my computer. Has anyone else been unable to access the forum earlier today?

CF, I had some trouble early morning as well. I don't sweat it, just try again later.

Thanks guys, glad to know it's appreciated. As I said, I'm going to be working on things in the background to both try to get the current list of modifications handled and impact the overall performance the work I am doing may have. This means that some glitches may crop up and require you to clear your browsers' cache in order to get rid of something it may have cached during an update procedure. If you have any issues accessing the forum altogether, just give it a moment, I'm probably just trying to sneak a quick restart of some random service in while no one's looking...
Thanks for the patience everyone. Once I have the config tuned to perfection, I will start importing some of the changes in and we can all finally relax a bit.
Kaizen

LOL, the forum actually went down for me only minutes after typing that message, and stayed that way for the rest of the night. Oh, the irony...

Hey Findlithui. Mine are sql errors. When they happen connecting takes a long time before the message shows up. Sometimes the connection from login to another part of the forum is slow, sometimes it gets broken off. It cannot be overload of this forum. I have yet to see more than 5 visitors in all when I log in or visit. Basically it is the same behaviour as before on the old forum, not as frequent mind. Luckely the admin is right on top of it. Kudos to him.

Sorry for the triple post. Now everything goes wrong. Theme on Firefox prevents me from seeing the delete button. Dang.

Me too, so think of the triple post as just saying what the rest of us would have said.
I *think* the error code was usually 505 (?). Next time I'll make a note.

I will copy and paste mine too, so we can compare notes. I run openSuse Linux, so maybe I am seeing other messages than someone under Windows.

Yeah, working on it. Got a bit of an overload when some search engine went crazy crawling the site. Made some adjustments and watching things.

How about some craziness?
Saturday Dec. 7th morning I tried to log in several times. Each time I logged in the "Log Out" button was highlighted (activated) and I was immediately logged back out.
Killed off all cookies. Still no change. Somehow I managed to get past it just now to write this. I'm not sure if it is still going to happen or if resolved itself. Just crazy.
