Hello everyone. I think that you have all noticed that we have been having a few problems with the forum lately. Basically to improve it permanently , we are going to have to migrate the boards to a new host. This will be expensive.
Paul and I were working on a project that if it goes well should help pay for the move... but things have gotten so bad, that there is no time to wait . As such , Paul will be bearing the brunt of the cost and paying up front, and hoping to recoup losses on the project.
Many of you have offered to help / donate. While this is really kind of you , Paul has decided not to take donations.
So what can you do?
Well , if all goes as planned, very soon we should have some SBG Tshirts. The sell of these will go to help cover expenses of moving the forum, and other planned upgrades.
I have no idea what they will cost... it is for Paul to decide... but probably $30 and some change...
So anyone who wants to donate to the new hosting service move, and is able to do so, buy a tshirt when they materialize.
Anyone game?

I'm game as well. I feel the same as Talon, and let us know if there is anything else we can do to help out.

I concur, so long as there is an option for black.

Spare yourself the cost of a t-shirt and postage overseas for me, I'm happy to donate!

Same here, I'd have gladly donated, but buying an SBG t-shirt, even better! I'm in for sure.

I love swords and the SBG Forum, but I'm not sure if I would actually wear the t-shirt. I would rather donate all the money to you guys instead of some of it to you and some to a t-shirt company.
But if this is the only way Paul wants to do it then I would buy the shirt.

What he said. Not diggin' the shirt idea...
However, it could be that if the SBG Store raffled off a sword... say charged folks $10 a pop for a chance to win and SBG sword... then Paul could make up what it costs him for the sword pretty quickly, and use whatever's over cost to pay for the site... methinks you could make the $350 hosting fee right quickly...
Everyone wins that way, and you don't have to go to the expense of designing and making T-shirts.
I know I'd rather pay $30 for 3 chances to win a sword rather than get a T-shirt I'll prolly end up using to oil a sword with anyway...

raffles won't work as some jurisdictions considerthem gambling- Paul also had problems from paypal last time he tried one..
I'm in whatever we do :)

If I have the cash when the shirts hit, I'll definitely swoop one up. I think that the shirt idea is great, personally.

Both raffles and donations cause some legal issues for Paul that I am sure he would rather not deal with. I love the sentiment I'm seeing. I love that everyone would be willing to donate sans shirt... and of course raffles are sexy. However, those options just make things more complicated for Paul. We have talked about raffles and donations in the past, many times... and its tricky biz. The T-shirt idea is likely the simplest solution Paul is comfortable using... so if you want to help out SBG and make it function better... buy a shirt or two. I'll be buying a couple for sure. I love you guys... long live SBG!

I'm in for a shirt or two. But I need 2XL (yes, I'm a fatass) otherwise I'm buying my wife a shirt.
Not that there's anything wrong with that, I just want to wear it myself. :)
