Shoot...I wish I had seen this thread earlier. Would definitely be interested in placing an order if there is to be another run. Cheers!

Have you given any thought yet to what the next batch may be? I'd like to see one of your two-handers get this level of release, if such were possible. I'm still very anxious to have this one, but perhaps the sooner one begins planning for Series 2 the better?
Just a fun thought, any chance of these swords having some kind of marking(s) indicating them as special SBG releases? I think it'd add some value from the collector's stand point. Unless it's cost-prohibitive.
Speaking of money, I'll have the rest to you Friday. Have a few bills to knock out, but this should be a sizable paycheck, so no worries.

Gus,
From your last message 9/12/07 you mentioned there were still 2 available. If that is still true I would like to have one. Please PM me on detail of deposit/payment. Are you still looking at a ETA of Dec 07?

Are you still looking at a ETA of Dec 07? I think they're all quietly spoken for now. I'm already thinking of what next? Obviously I won't start the next until these are shipped........ But instead of the same old, same old, I've kinda wondered how a Tackat would sound? I've been thinkin' of shooting ShooterMike a photo to share...... Gus

or a sabre I second the vote for saber. A single hand saber would be a great choice for both using as-is and as the basis for various customization projects. That would be very cool.

you read my mind Mike. (ignore that bit over in the dark corner ) I'd like to do a custom sabre based on one of Gus's blades

I don't mind the idea of the saber, but the idea of the SBG Atrim swords is to stay within the forum's $300US guideline. The fullers of the two AT existing single hand sabers probably makes that undoable.......I'd either have to do this for more than $300, or do newer designs with either smaller mult-fullers in black, or no fullers. Doing that, might as well make a more "period correct" saber blade too. Including the false edge........

Remove the fullers alltogether. Would that work?

I don't think so. I don't think a saber would handle correctly, nor would it be very desirable, without fullers.
May I suggest what I think is the ?AT1557? Gus? I am referring to the single hand Type XVIII that closely resembles the Henry V sword, but with a bit longer blade that's not hollow ground. And definitely do it with curved guards...

I don't see why not. It would shift the balance point forward a bit, but then, I (personally) like forward balance points. It would handle differently, not incorrectly, IMO. Not desirable without fullers? Again, I don't see why that wouldn't work. I think the fullers on the sabers seem rather tacky, at least in the images.

I will leave that for Gus to address. The sword I was referring to as a suggestion for the next SBG ATrim is the one this AT/CF is based on.

I'm drawing my conclusion based off of katanas. Is a katana without a bo-hi "wrong"?

ShooterMike, What a beautiful sword you are suggesting! When you said it should not be hollow ground was it because of cost factor (sub $300)? Otherwise do you not desire a hollow ground sword as compare to one without?
