Though this question keeps coming to mind: If this sword will be that much cheaper, how much will be sacrificed in terms of overall quality? I don't think that is an issue. In case anyone missed Gus's post in this thread, here it is again: I am reading that as "what you see in the photo is what you get". That is to say a very attractively priced AT1315--a sword from his standard line--but with a sub-$300 price tag. Am I right?

What makes this possible is the potential quantity. $315 is my normal wholesale for this sword. However, I don't have the luxury of making 10 pieces at one time. the way things work, is I get material for a few pieces {10 to 15} that are moderately similar size. Then I run them thru the mill. If I'm running, say 12, and they're 12 different models, that will require a bit of a difference in setup for each one, and will require different machining media for each one. Run 10 of these, I do not have to take the time to make a setup change, or download new media. Just unclamp machined piece, clean table, clamp blank. Machine..... It'll allow working all the blades together after heat treat too, things like making handles for all, all at the same time. Doing the fullers at the same time, etc........ The "real work", the finishing work will all be the same, but some of the earlier roughing can be done more efficiently, saving time, making for some cost savings........ If this works out, then this could wind up being something done semi-annually, or even quarterly.......different swords each time...

As enthusiastic as a poorly hand-drawn firebreathing dragon can be!

I would imagine that such a dragon could be quite enthusiastic.

I put myself down for a maybe, but am leaning more towards a definite yes at this point.

This is getting more attention than the gen2 witham did when it first came out and got stellar reviews around these parts - and the SBG AT1315 isn't even out yet. I will be absolutely amazed if this sword doesn't break the proverbial sound barrier for sub $300 swords...

They will be announced here when they are ready. I think Gus might be kicking around the idea of taking pre-orders when they get closer. There seems to be so much interest that may be the only way to get one...

Got to go mow a few more yards!
I've got $0.00 is my bank now with some spare cash around my room, but that's for movies.
Yikes, I hope I'm able to preorder one!
