I think Louis have done a great job on almost everything about this sword, so i post his review below:
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4816
I especially want to talk about the handling and cutting part,
The Handling
Well i'm not a tall guy (5'7"), but i always love a long-handled sword with relatively short blade,
so when I know that Tried & True is currently out of order, i instantly choose to get this one from KOA,
and when i get to hold the sword, it talks to me, and it said: I'm The Best Sword You Ever Have!
The heavy weight due to the thickness doesn't change the fact that it becomes alive when held by both hands,
in fact it's the fastest sword I ever have, the long pommel helps a lot, it brings the POB closer to the grip,
I can even practice with the sword by one hand! ( Of cource, got tired after 100 swings by each hand~)
The grip is kind of thin to my taste, however, it only feel right when I put on gloves, which may be the idea,
after all it's based on a historical european sword, I might put some leather on the grip when i get some free time,
(the most serious problem of the sword would be, the leather scabbard makes the blade easier to get rust!)
The Cutting
The edges are apple-seed sharpened when it came to me, but they won't even cut paper, which i felt a bit concerned,
but the worries flew away when I make the first cut, it cut through the bottle with ease and i can't even feel a thing!
After the first cut, i decided to do more practice on bottles and, I EVEN GET SOME SILENT CUTS!!!
And with that performance, I got more confidence when facing the 3 inch soaked paper rolls, again the Teutonic Sword cut the rolls whithout much bebounce, which i always feel when cutting with non-sharp swords, IMHO, Kris Cutlery really did a wonderful job on it, Great Job, Kris Cutlery, YOU MADE MY DREAM COME TRUE!
Here's the cutting video which edited from my second practice, I would like to post the first but I don't think I'm in a good shape that day, I got a serious injure and haven't recovered jsut yet, I feel this one is MUCH better than the first:
I hope you like it, and thanks for reading!!!
