Hi Folks, New "kid" on the block. I was wondering if someone has purchased the GEN2 Irish hand-and-a-Half Sword and can give me a review of it. Thanks!

This is Clyde from Gen2's personal favorite sword, so you're going to be getting an earful from him about it's awesome aspects, that's for sure ! By looks alone, this sword is, in my opinion, by far the prettiest irish styled sword on the market at this price level. Not to mention it is backed by gen'2 warranty AND amazing durability. If you like the design, you can't go wrong!

I owned that one. The pin broke on my tire-pell. Clyde was very happy to replace that sword for me. I have the highest respect for Gen 2 for backing up their products.

I've also got my eye on this sword. However, I remember reading in tsafa's review that he found the cross guard got in the way when swinging it. has anyone else who has handled this sword had that experience?

Hi guy, the Irish hand and half I tested was more of a cutter but the sword was light enough for decent pointcontrol. I don't know what modifications have been made to the pinning since I tested it. The large bowtie crossguard means that you will have to modify you grip to work around it if you want to make large cutting swings. In the highguard, the crossguard must rest against you forearm or you must hold the sword extra hight in order to keep your forearm out of the way. I think this sword was ment to be used in a very specific fighting style where you fight primarily from the "long point", keeping the crossguard horizontaly infront of you to block incoming blows and using the leverage of the long handle to make cuts from the longpoint position.
