This is a custom Design I'm working on to be made soon. Its based on the DSA templar I already own. I love that sword just wanted it bigger to suit me. I working on my shield design as well will post that soon. I'm thinking 49.5 in overall maybe around 5.5 lbs. I want it to be hefty I'm new to this forum but a life long sword lover glad to have found such a cool place. Thx, Michael Attachments:

That's a pretty sweet design. Especially like the designs on the end of the guards. Is it going to be a 2-hander or a one-hander? Hard to picture in my head. And welcome to the forum!

Thank you It will be a 2 handed for sure the one have now is about 45 in long with 6.8 in handle just not quite big enough for 2 hands. I luv Maltese crosses and the Templar style of swords sorting of thinking of a good vs evil idea. This design being the evil side design all black. Crusader monk is making a custom scabbard now for the original can't wit to get it back it.

I like the whole evil aura it gives off from the design. It would be more evil if the blade had a black finish like the DSA Black Knight Sword IMO. Or if you were thinking for a lighter, good guy design, try crossing it with the Excalibur golden look. Well, good luck on getting the sword!

The terminations on the guard will likely dig into your wrist or arm if you're not careful, i'd consider making them less sharp, maybe engravings/designs on a square or such.

I was so focusing more on the crosses than safety, I didn't even notice. I can also suggest shortening the guard length just a little bit, like about 1cm on each side. And making less sharp would be essential for a user friendly sword.

Great ideas thx guys it's easy to get caught up in the design and think about function. Glad im still in the design stage this s my first real sword I've designed besides fantasy illustration. Maybe if I draw them more like a Scottish claymore rounded for sure. Thx for the input.

Also start thinking of the blade profile and construction if you hadn't started on it. And if tang being peened or screwed. It should be nice to have a strong blade with a nice look, since what's the use of a sword when it's more display than function. Good luck on your current and future sword designing!

Looks a lot like Darksword Armoury's Templar sword - not strictly historical, but still pretty neat. You know, if you're really going for a evil vibe, you could replace the Maltese crosses with crossed bones. Templars were allegedly the origin of the skull-and-crossbones motif now associated with pirates, using it as a sort of memento mori on gravestones and to warn pirates away from their ships.

Hi, Mok it is as dsa I modeled after check this out viewtopic.php?f=3&t=12514Just finished from Crusader Monk and on its way back to me. This is the good sword and the design in this thread is what I drew and designed for the evil sword so they will be a pair when done. I do like that idea of the bones on the sword and maybe scabbard. I was also inspired by your sweet king salmolon symbols you made on your design thread. So I'm making my own with eye and Maltese cross I have in mine. Thx for input.

...and without a critical failure to actually read the thread on my part, I would've known that. Excuse me while I *facepalm*.
