I bought this piece off ebay because I sort of liked it for a costume piece. I can only think it is some sort of fantasy sword. That said this is well made and very solid. The straightened section from the tip of the pommel along the back edge is a nasty skull depressing wedge. This is a well thought out and functional blade. Semi - sharp and no visible makers marks. Is it FAST! Only 70cm total length and no, you can't give it to your daughter when I die. Anyway, this is it. Perhaps someone knows what it is exactly? Can't say that I've seen anything like that before, but it strikes me as a cheap (very) most-likely Pakistani piece; that is, "Made in Pakistan" would probably appear somewhere on the unit.
The design is vaguely reminiscent of a scimitar/shamshir or similar middle-eastern/caucasian saber-type blade. Apart from that, I can't think of any comparisons.

No idea on the sword, but let me help you out with the image tags again. Lol.
It's kind of cool looking, but I'd have to agree with Random, it looks like it's probably a cheap stainless steel sword made in pakistan or india.

Yep, kind of what I thought, though,no, very close inspection finds no anachronistic escutcheon. Pity some folks who will charge you lots don't take that to heart! Deffo stainless steel blade. Hmm I might fix that. Where's my wire wool and vinegar? Now I know I am not sitting on the long discontinued (and saleable) "Sword of Sheba" or some such, I can operate on it. Will do this up and scabbard it and present it to a pirate wench of my acquaintance as a costume piece. Got what I paid for anyway. Tendrax, am I fated to wander this exalted forum messing up my pix? Gratitude again for your kindly intervention.....

Are you sure it's stainless? A lot of Pakistani stuff is regular carbon steel instead of stainless. Not great steel but possibly usable.

I had one of those years ago. I picked it up to use as a prop and then sold it. At least I believe I sold it. It could still be up in the attic with the other bladed crap. It was Pakistani if memory serves.
