Thanks a lot, folks! Glad you all like the photos. Odingaard's got it right--London's damn awesome to visit, and a great place for sword lovers to stare down some fantastic stuff. And it's also a great place to take pictures with nifty things in the background.

Ah... the one pic is from the Millenium Wheel. That was still new the last time I was there. Need to go again... sigh.

Correct you are. Went up in the London Eye while the sun was setting, it was a good moment. I'm heading back there in June or August depending on how I sort through some stuff this spring.

I just cought this thread and I have to say, I had to change undies 3 times while looking through these. There is some REDICULOUSLY intricate stuff in there. I can't even imagine how many hours went into making some of those blades and hilts. It's just insane. Amazing stuff though. I hope I can manage to visit that place one day.

Yea, the level of detail on many period pieces is just stunning. If you can make it over there it's totally worth visiting at some point.

Thanks, Zach for all the great photos. I'm particularly interested in the German bastard, A492. I already had one picture, but yours gives me a view of the other side. If you have any more of that sword, I'd sure like to see them!
(Also, thanks for telling me how to post a picture on this forum)

I know this was most likely just a showpiece and not meant to be used, but if any cannon crew went into battle with this thing, they are automatically the most badass crew ever.
And seeing that sword (the original of the Kris Cutlery/A&A replica) makes me want to get A&A's version even more. Already got KC's, and it's easily my favorite sword.

Many thanks, Brenno!
Happy to share the photos, Chris and Kataphractos. There's definitely plenty of badass to go around.
Roger, I only had the one photo of A492, my apologies. But I'll be back at the Wallace collection in about two weeks--I could certainly snap a few more! In fact are there any angles of particular swords people would want some shots of?

Hey Zach -
Since A&A is making me a custom version of A492, any more pictures you can take of it would be greatly appreciated.
Also your impressions of it. We may be making the blade a little longer and wider than the original.
Roger

Thanks, devketrin, it's definitely a great place to go! And welcome to the forums!
I have some more Wallace photos that I should update this thread with at some point, including Roger's extra photos of A492 that I were sent by PM instead of via the photo thread. Looks like I have some sifting to do.
