Nice review, Sean. That is one beautiful sword. It seems pretty obvious from the video that it is very nimble and moves extremely well. The fittings are very well done and the closeup photos show the obvious close fitting and tolerances John's held these to. Seems like a really great sword. I must say though, that I hardly recognized you at the end of the clip. You looked like a convict on the yard, all menacing and scowly. Not the always smiling and laughing Sean I remember. Have you been to prison recently?

Stop. Reading. My. Mind.
Great review and a great sword.
Wow. Between this and the Morrigan my bank account is going to be hurting. What's a man to do?

Wow... And two more still to go? Geez.
Okay, I have a question that I never got a good chance to ask, and I wonder if anyone knows; does John forge or grind his swords? Was always curious about that.

Sean good review, that is one great looking sword, the next two will have to shine to beat that one for top spot. The fitting and grip go so well together, though I reckon mine might be in dark blue with a Morrigan guard but the same pommel.

Mostly grinding nowadays, although he forges out the parts that go beyond what he can do with the bar stock, like putting in the curvature on a through-hardened saber or forging out some hilt parts for customs.

Heh... Now Mike, I would have loved a 'Hey Sean, I hardly recognized you, what with that 60+ lbs you last since you came to visit, and the muscle you put on...' but scowling and looking like a convict? :? I have been pretty grumpy of late... and worried/stressed about several things... and in pretty much constant pain that my new Doc says 'Get used to it' as far as a well to deal with it. So its possible all that %$#@ has seeped into my face. Of course, if you wanna see me face light up with an ear to ear smile, you could always just throw a bunch of those beautiful swords in a box... maybe toss in a few extra firearms you don't need... and ship em on over here in that huge gun case we used in that trade one time. I'll smile like a Cheshire cat for you.

Sorry. But that "convict on the yard" statement just implies that you also look like a muscle-bound maniac with killer instincts.

Maybe I look scary... but you ARE scary. The speed at which you produced that knife to hand when i was visiting was disturbing to me. By the time I registered you had it, I would have already been stabbed a couple times. That was a sad wake up call for me that I'm not as fast as I used to be. Hopefully the next time I see ya, I'll have dropped the remaining 30lbs i'm working on, and we can do some cutting and you can show me some shooting. I'll have a bunch more nice swords to show ya, as i know you do as well.

awesome review Sean I really like this sword design even though I'm not usually partial to sabers. the fishtail pommel is gorgeous as well as the wood grip. the guard flows nicely with the other shapes as you've pointed out. what a sweet sword
