Hear, hear, exactly the reason I wish the longship line much success and prosperity. Thanks for the review, Sean, I'm attracted to wolf swords for my own reasons and really like this one.

Sean nice review, was a good read, I have to agree that the Longship line is a great move for Odinblades. That deep green leather really goes well with the bronze fitting and I am glad the the leaf blade is not too overdone. I was really hoping to get at least one of these this year, be it the Verrimus or the Morrigan or even a Steerboard, hopefully I still have some funds available when the website is up and running.

Sean you must have a stack of swords you keep hidden, or do people just keep sending them to you .

Hmmm...is it too soon to post my "Sooo hot want to touch the pommel" pic again? No? Okay! Friggin' awesome sword and review, Sean. I've always loved the viking influence on the Celtic Wolf's pommel and it fits perfectly with the wolf paw theme. (And Marc, I considered donating my photos but I didn't want to make it TOO easy on him. )

Dude, I am seriously liking that one.
All of Johns stuff just flat out kills as far as cool factor, but he's really got it going with the Longship pieces, and availability on top of that. It's got to be a Morrigan or a Verrimus, or both, you made my mind up for me.
Good job on the review, and it's good to see you cutting.

Nice review, Sean! It does handle in an interesting way. Not really what I expected at first sight. A note about the Certificates of Authenticity. Future ones might look a bit different. The original plan was to update the picture each sword, but it's a bit impractical. I figure people will be happier to have their sword ready to ship than to spend extra time putting that extra little picture on the certificate

Aye James... I expect its not worth the pain in the butt of doing it for each sword. The only issue I imagine arising from that is when someone does enough custom to the sword to make it look radically different then the pictured one. For example... say someone got a Verrimus with a leather grip and center riser, a wheel pommel and an upturned guard... and the example in the pic had a S guard, wood or rayskin grip and fishtail pommel... and say the blade were different as well as mine and Marc's are... that could be odd. This shouldn't be much of an issue with the Morrigan, which most of which I expect will look very similar.... but with other longship swords it could be odd.

True. I suppose that's just a sign that either I need to leave a printer at John's house or I need to move in next door to the guy

Might be best to develop a sorta image/logo for them, or use a longship line style logo rather than a sword picture then.
Gorgeous sword. I didn't comprehend how large it was at first. I was really considering seeing if I could offer the wife some sort of deal so I can snag one with taxes, but looking at it, it's pretty far out of my range size-wise... Still gorgeous though.

Living anywhere near john would be hazardous to my wallet... I would have a room full of Odinblades... and no money. jhart06: Have you seen my GreenLeaf sword? A much smaller leafblade, maybe closer to what your thinking of? Or my Shadowfang.

both of those i've seen. And they would work great. I will someday grab a longsword or bastard, or maybe even a two-hander. But I'm not trained, nor have I ever used anything of that size. I like my nice big shield to hide behind. Yes, your greenleaf would be about perfect.. Or close enough. combines the anduril style elements, the grip is gorgeous... One day my employer will quit screwing me over for doing my job the way Im supposed to and not how he wants me to and I'll have money. Or I could find a leprachaun. The latter seems more likely

You know that's a good point. The original Celtic Wolf in my website had short quillions like a viking and I liked it. I did a Celtic dragon and it had these quillion for the Morrigan on it. Then Fable did a version of my design with the short quillions on it (Kind of unnerved me) and so I opted for the longer quillion on the Morrigan.
