I'm a huge Zelda fan and I have always wanted a Zelda Master Sword that is sharp and can cut, made out of carbon steel and well done.
Is there such a thing out there???
Thoughts???
Thanks :ugeek:

You'd have to go fully custom, to my knowledge. It wouldn't be cheap, but if you did do it, and went for one of the older depictions it would be pretty cool. Ocarina of Time onwards, the master sword looks great in games, but in real life it looks...odd. But that could be all the plastic fittings and such.

I saw a video on youtube of some guy who bought a rep of the master sword and then took it apart and redid the handle and fitted it with a hand and a half blade, looked bad ass.
LOL I want one!

Grr. Anuan beat me to it. As he said, the newer MS generally looks... Toy-like in real life. Now, if you were to slim down the guard some, enlarge the pommel a tad, then make the grip ovular instead of round, and lastly, have something like a deep purple leather wrap with some wide risers, you could get something extremely close to the actual design while retaining its functionality.

I would check out this thread: viewtopic.php?f=43&t=6691In short though, there is currently not any official functional production Legend of Zelda swords mainly due to copyright reasons and such. If you are looking for one, unfortunately the only avenue available to you is custom, which is not a bad thing in my opinion because a icon like the Master Sword deserves nothing less. As Anuan mentioned, some aspects of the newer incarnations of the sword may be uncomfortable like the spikes in the guard. Ask around for custom smith that could perhaps make one that is slightly modified and boast a hollow ground blade and hollow fitting to cut down on weight to help with handling.

Rob Miller has experience under his belt making functional replicas of the Master Sword, although his was a bit bulky and the fittings were painted. He could likely alter the design and methods to suit your fittings though.
Christian Fletcher has experience with making fantasy swords as well.

I would reccomend; Odinblades Christian Fletcher Fable Blades BKS (They've done some stage-combat versions, IIRC)
