I like it, but I would like it more with a peened pommel...

Now that's nice... I know KC does sturdy enough work i'm not horribly over bothered peened or not... Modern day hilt assemblies will hold up to 90% of what we throw at them anyway, if done properly.. Though there are a few exceptions.
KC seems to be stepping their game up from what i'm reading. Cool to see.

The pommel edges look really square in that picture, would probably be pretty rough on the hand unless rounded off.

I find this sword...interesting...not really to my taste exactly, yet still, interesting. I've only ever bought a few small trinkets from Kris Cutlery but their customer service was outstanding. Definitely interested in this sword...

I have been looking for a good, reasonably prices Spatha for a while as I like them more than the gladius. I am really glad to see this.

No need. I will be doing a review soon. Mine arrived today! As with all the KC swords I have purchased, it's built solid as a rock and comes sickly sharp. Attachments:

Wow that looks way prettier in your pic than it does on the website. Looking forward to reading your review.

Looks like it might be a good canidate to convert into a Holmegard/Kragehul type spatha someday. Would just need to make it more lens cross section than diamond.

Ooh, that is nice! A simple, no-frills design, but quite elegant in its austerity (and of course it makes customization that much easier). I would prefer the pommel with a hexagonal cross-section, to better match the guard... but still!
Gotta see if I can find a reasonably priced retailer on my side of the world.

Kris does really nice work. Their Gladius has been a perennial favorite. Wish the blade was longer on this one though.

I have one of these. The sword is rock solid, very sharp and quite well balanced for the type. It has turned into one of my favorites, its just such a handy blade.
My only knock is the scabbard. It is quite well done, but I would love to see something closer to the one they did on their gladius.

There's another sword with a leaf-blade in the works as well. Cecil let me see the design when I picked up a Wakizashi earlier today. It's a touch more ornate than most other KC offerings, and it looks really good. I'll probably end up getting one.

I agree. With the handle less than 4" it would require a bit of shaving. However, it's hard to tell how long it is, and maybe just because of my bad eyes, but it looks like it says 3 8/4". That would be 5", but that doesn't make much sense, does it? Anyway, I am still trying to figure out my opinion both on the Spatha and KC. looking forward to the review.
