I just ordered one for my Iai. Black Ito. Had the tsuba switched out for the Oak-leaf pattern found on the Carbon Steel Iaito of theirs. I chose it over the Tenchi/Shura because: 1) The hamon is real. I don't have to worry about rubbing it off when I touch up/polish the blade. 2) It's more traditional. 3) The tsuka core(correct me if I'm wrong) and ito is made to somewhat a higher standard than the through hardened blades. Why I was hesitant to choose the Kaze: No bo-hi. I'll post a review(probably side-by-side with a Hanwei Practical Katana) sometime next week when it arrives.

It does have a copper Mekugi.. which in my opinion was a downer but it's there for a reason: Stability.
I love the no bo-hi on this sword.

So it's been a week and 4 days... still no Kaze. I'm disappointed, especially since I live in the same state that the Cheness Warehouse is located. Not exactly cross-country shipping, if you know what I mean...

I have called him. And I *did* send an email, but the email I only sent because he wouldn't answer the phone...

That is no good....suggest make a complaint to BBB(Better Business Bureau) and also let Cheness know that you will take the next step if they do not reply or take action.. Had a similar case with Oni Forge, it took me 3weeks to get it , it does say in their website it takes 4-14days(IMO, don't know why takes 14days though) to deliver....what pissed me off was after a week, I asked the status and the response was "Should be there any day" so waited & waited , so contacted again, and then responded it was shipped early in the week......so waited again, with no response from them, so finally wrote a very strong email and finally getting tracking # , only to find out that it was shipped the day before, meaning no action was taken till I complained... With Cheness, I had some issues with their slow response, don't know why they take so many days to response(phone was always voice mail and the cell phone I called a lady answered saying send an email !), if you run a web base business , IMO a quick response is a must..... May be it may be faster to go to their office and knock on their door . ;D

They were very efficient when i bought from them last year, I heard Paul Chen got real busy since his baby was born. Maybe thats the prob? Anyway he should reply your email fast, I just mailed him the day before and he replied yesterday. Live and let live Mibu,LOL. Give him a chance.

Well it's all moot now since the sword arrived today (day 13). I'm not that TOed, I just wanted to make sure I had it before my Iaido Demonstration this saturday. I just assumed when it said 7-10 days it meant it.
I give Paul the benefit of the doubt. He DID after all switch out the Tsuba at no extra charge.
Review will be forthcoming(probably right after the Demo).
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go buy cutting things.
P.S. This thing shears paper like... something that shears paper very well.

I just got my Kaze in. Took 8 days total, but I had to wait a few days for money to clear. Once it was actually shipped, took 3 days to arrive.

I've got it and used it, but I need to borrow a nicer camera for pictures. I'll hopefully have some video up of a recent Iai demo that I used it for. First time I ever cut with it, but I think I did pretty well.
At the very least I didn't John-Clements it.
