So... its 5 Days until my 20th birthday. My girlfriend had been bragging about how much ill like my mysterious birthday gift. So today she called me and said i should come over because she had a surprise for me. i get to her house and she has this huge package on the table, and to my surprise it was the DSA Anduril!(yes i know my girl is pretty awesome haha) She knows how much of a lord of the rings fan i am, and that anduril is among my favorites in the trilogy. Needless to say i absolutely love it! Sorry for the poor quality of the picture, ill be posting better ones tomorrow when i can get it out in the sun

Its iffy, it has a secondary bevel and the cloth i used to oil it got caught on it quite a bit, i have yet to try and cut with it but the secondary bevel is pretty straight with out much wavering. Im debating taking some fine grit sandpaper to it to smooth it out so the cloth doesnt get caught on it when i oil it, but im kinda nervous to do anything to such a beautiful blade lol

I'm eagerly (pant, pant!) awaiting the DSA Anduril I ordered from the Stromlo Swords closing down sale. Really looking forward to getting my grubby lil paws on it

Yeah, I had the same issue with the sharpening on my Squire. I have been trying to decide between the Anduril and the Ranger for my next DSA, and I think it's going to be the Anduril. The Ranger weighs in somewhere over 5 pounds if I remember correctly, and my Squire is no feather. I really like the details on the Anduril though, and that pommel is just so spectacular. You've got a keeper indeed, my wife is not so much a fan of my sword obsession Congrats, and Happy Birthday!

The anduril and the ranger is indeed a hard choice to make lol, but i absolutely love anduril, the detailing on the pommel and guard were a bit dirty when i got it but it was pretty easy to clean up with some damp Q tips. (dry it off as you go though... mild steel doesnt go well with water as i found out on my H/T EMSH  ) right now im trying to figure out how i want to go about mounting it on my wall.. i have a section in mind but its next to impossible to find a stud in my walls and i dont want it to fall any ideas for hanging devices? Also thank you for all the happy bdays (: and Everguard did you ever clean up the edge on your squire? if so howd you go about doing that, i dont wanna do to much to this one right now lol

Svad, yours is finally on the way - guess you didnt get my message few days ago asking for shirt size - hope M is ok? Also the fittings get ghosted with a little oxidation, which I think makes them look awesome - I left it like that (of course they can be polished up bright again if you like).

Take a dab of Mothers Mag polish to the fittings on the Anduril, and they shine right up like newly minted coins.

I haven't touched the edge of my Squire yet, the sharpening service seems to have already removed quite a bit of steel and this is my first real sword. I have a couple of days off next week where I've decided to make sword days. My Squire and a no-name Italian rapier are getting polished up and sharpened, so we'll see how it goes. I'll post pics when I'm done.
