Well, Valhalla is actually a ginormous mead hall, but that's what the field outside it might look like after the Einherjar have retired for another night of feasting and drinking. (Unlimited Blade Works is a thing from the Fate/stay night franchise. It's essentially a pocket universe that creates and contains infinite, exact copies of every weapon the user has ever laid eyes on.)

Although you've gotta have one helluvan imagination to work it properly or else they're just fakes with no reliability.

For me its a sword i designed about 3 years ago, i call it the Acheronian sword. I imagine it being one of the sword that was used to chop off the heads of the Acheronians when their capital city Python fell to the hands of their invaders who made the mountain of skulls with the heads of the defeated. ( Conan Mythos ) I've made about 200 drawings/doodles/sketches of this one, a couple of months ago i finally set on a final design. Now... if only a pile of cash could fall on me ! Or a custom maker willing to take monthly payments, or when my cred cards will be completly paid or when ... I'll put it in the design section when i get time to post my other designs as well with it.

Oh, I have several of swords I'd pick if I could only have one. I'm kinda paradoxal that way. There's at least two very specific sabers I want to have made, two or three custom katana with some unusual fittings, and two viking swords - one single edged, one suontaka. Then there's that special sword I designed specifically for myself, my own custom Lundemo warder, and a couple of other fantasy designs I've been playing around with. Since we're in the Fantasy Sword forum, though, I'm going to dig up an old video game favorite. More specifically, the "elven long blades" from an Elder Scrolls: Oblivion mod called Ardonnay's Elven Weaponry: I need to reinstall my own copy of Oblivion, or I would have provided better screenshots. To be honest, I don't think these pictures adequately portray just how outrageously pretty these swords are.

The black and silver one is gorgeous. They look a bit like the elven sabers from Raven armoury www.raven-armoury.co.uk/ but with even more details.

I got ya Aaron... but this is easily avoided. Whoever the guy who made the replica then sold it was... he had to advertise that sword for sale... which is how Terry could learn of it and threaten suing. If you contacted a custom smith and submitted drawings for the sword... and they then made it and sent it to you... it is not advertised. It need not be posted or listed anywhere... and thus no one need ever learn or it or see it... except you and the smith. Easy pleasy. All I'm saying is... if you just desperately want this one sword... and no one makes it... and its your dream sword... you CAN make it happen. No one should be without their attainable dream blade if its doable.

That Oblivion sword looks like it strongly 'borrows' from the LotR movie Elven sword...

I think 'borrows' is too mild a term, Sean.

You know, I've always wondered: Do those swords actually exist?
I mean, most of the pictures on the site look very CGI, and I've never actually seen any photos of one, or even heard of anyone who has actually bought a Raven Armoury sword.

Well, it's definitely a similar look, sure, but the proportions of the whole thing is pretty wildly different. That's one of the reasons I love it so much. And honestly, if the only similarity is "the basic idea", I don't consider it to be plagiarizing.*
Mind, some of Ardonnay's other sword models are totally "borrowed", including both Arwen's Hadhafang and the official Twinkle and Icingdeath designs. So, yeah, it's not like he doesn't do that stuff. But it's modding, not official work, so nobody really cares that much about copyright. (Heck, there are mods that let you wear the actual Sauron armor.)
*Actually, I don't believe in copyright for swords at all, but that's a different discussion.

Im sure they do, but at the price they ask for their stuff you wont see their items much often. But you are right, they do look like CGI !

A good point... I only know a couple of people with Raven Armory weapons... and they are nothing like those Elven Saber/scimitar blades.

Seconded, after a fashion. I've seen all of about 2 people on Youtube with Raven Armoury swords; one was Skallagrim and his gladius, the other was a user named "Erik1970Viking" with an Atlantean. Very different from the saber/scimitar ones, indeed.

Ah I hear you. Truthfully I would feel dishonest about that. It'd be one thing for me to get a close-to-exact copy of the Ranger sword, since New Line clearly is not interested in policing it's intellectual property. But Terry takes his copyright very seriously, and I wouldn't feel right going 'behind his back' as it were. But you're completely right, there are ways around it.

i wouldnt feel bad about it, if hes so worried about it then he should produce functional swords for the fans to buy and make a profit for himself XD

I'd only feel bad about it if I were making money of of it somehow... like if I were selling swords advertised as 'Sword of Truth' swords... which I would not have the right to do as its his. However, if I loved his writing and the sword in his stories so much that I had to have one, just for me... I'd see it as a complement rather then an insult. That's just me tho... I live in the grey area. I want my 17 Great Weapons. It will happen one day.

I wouldn't mind having all of the swords from Fred Saberhagen's series The Book of Swords.
I also wouldn't mind having all of the named swords from the Malazaan Books of the Fallen series.

Goodkind is an objectivist, right? Aren't those the ones who think you shouldn't profit from other people's creativity, or something like that?
*only knows about it from playing Bioshock and reading the TV Tropes article on Atlas Shrugged*
