Can anyone tell me what would be good to use for polishing my blades. i am having a hard time finding anything over 150 grit that actually takes anything off. im lookin for 200 400 800 1200 and 2000 grit.

You might try a woodworking supplier like Penn State Industries that carries fine grit material for sanding and polishing wood.

do wood working sanding pads work on spring steel?? just curious. but thx for the advice so far

I don't see why not. Silicon Carbide is used in all sorts of sandpapers, and is quite durable. It's used in the production of gemstones for that very reason. I think they use it as a cutting tool, but it should work equally well on steel.

Most hardware, auto supply, or paint and body supply offer wet or dry in grits up to 3000.
