Hey all,
I'm hoping to order a pair of assemble yourself katanas for a friend and I. They're cheap factory made blades, but they're carbon steel and full tang. I'm just wondering, is there a way to heat-temper (or whatever it's called) these ready-made blades to increase their strength? Let me know where I can find this out please, I'd like to get going on this soon.

I think they are heat treated already. I was looking at buying one, you see.
Also, If you do decide to try home-tempering, my advice is, don't bother.
If you do find that they aren't heat treated, send them off to a professional heat treater, and get them to do it. You'd need a forge and some practice at the very least to do it yourself.
