Anduril, hands down. Gurthang's nice, but there's just something about it that I'm not overly fond of, though, if asked, I can't really specify, so if I was the one picking between the two, I'd take Anduril in a heart beat. Though the one Brenno has up isn't my favorite version of the sword (I prefer the sketch he posted in the design section much more), it's still got nice clean lines to it.

Anduril. The colors of the grip don't mesh well for me personally. If I were the lucky one (cough* Swordfan), I'd ask Brenno to change the leather grip portion to black. MMMMMM black and gold is just ubersexy. -Black mirroring most of the uniforms and equipment of Gondor from the films. (just a really royal color scheme in my mind)

I know it isn't one of the listed choices but I would go for one of the ring wraith blades he is doing.

if i was going to fork out the money for a fable blade (not saying they arent worth it cuz id buy one in a heartbeat if i could afford it) id go the full custom route and have him design you a new one of a kind sword. id get with him and tell him all the specs you want, and even draw him a detailed sketch of how youd like it all to look. probally wouldnt cost much more than either of those swords if you didnt get too far out there with your design. thats just my opinon. but i do like both anduril and gurthang....id go with gurth b/c i love that sexy wooden grip

SwordFan, I do agree with Saito, actually... if you're going to get a Fable, why not talk with Brenno and see about getting an exclusive custom made for yourself? Heck, you could even submit a design of your own and call it 'Anduril' or whatever. There's no rule that says a sword called Anduril or Gurthang has to look like this or that. I've always pictured Gurthang as more of a Celtic-type blade, for example... anyway, if you're fixed upon those two specific blades, I would personally go with the Anduril. I like the pommel's form, and it's got a nice-looking blade...

I'd agree with Saito and Elheru. If you are going to spend the money to get a custom, why not get one that is uniquely yours? I have a sword commissioned with Brenno right now, I went with a design that hasn't been done before, as I wanted something that was all mine and that nobody else had.
If you do want to get an Andruil or Gurthang, I'd highly recommend putting your own spin on it or maybe just give Brenno free reign and see what he comes up with. Based on his work so far, I highly doubt you could go wrong giving him totalt freedom on a blade.

I'm so glad the poll didn't include Brendan's Excalibre as I hope to purchase it someday. Both are excellent pieces, though I would pick Andruil, I very nearly bought it last year in Brendan's sale but I could not turn away from his "In the Name of Crom".

Ha ha , well I was actually considering the Excalibre , Felarof and the Peter Pan as well ,but then I decided to narrow it down to Anduril or Gurthang . Really torn betwen the two and Iv already told Brendan that Im taking one of them , just to make my final choice now today so that he can ship next week for me . Iv also taken the little Reepicheep sword . At the moment I must admit Im leaning towards the Gurthang ,dont know why really it just looks different I guess ,plus it has the advantage of being used with or without the guard .Man how I wish I could have just taken both the Gurthang and Anduril .Brendan is a real stand up guy with great Customer Service ,Iv sent him loads of e mails with questions etc and he has replied to each and everyone of them ,great guy .

I'd go with Gurthang. The colors and style of Andruil don't move me as much as most of Brenno's swords do... but Gurthang is such a unique piece, with the removable guard... and it looks so menacing. Its a wicked looking sword. I've been tempted to pick up little Reepicheep many times over... that's a good get.

Thanks Sean , I must admit I keep changing my mind between the Gurthang and Anduril ,but promised Brendan an answer by end of today as I want them shipped off next week .Im also still trying to decide if I want the brass bits on the Reepicheep antiqued dark, or polished bright? Brendan has so many good looking blades , just very difficult to choose , now if only my bank balance knew no boundaries , lol .

Well, you can't change your mind now. I've got Gurthang packed, and all the TNt and customs docs signed and ready to deliver. You should have it about Monday or Tuesday. I would have picked Gurthang myself. There's just something about it that I love. You know I've never even cut with it... sigh Actually with that leaf removed it handles beautifully! You know I was offering SF a discount on Anduril, Excalibur, or Gurthang, or a few of the others lower on the page. But there's no way I could discount Felarof. That one is special.
