I don't consider myself experienced enough to give a full review just yet. You will find one here: www.sword-buyers-guide.com/hedemark.html by Mr. Avery Pierce. I'm just learning as I go, working on my review skills, adding my 2 cents with a few stats, color differences, and some pics. Let me know if I miss anything that is important not to miss adding to a review.
So, in a nut shell, trying my best to follow the review template:
I think that I have already covered Introduction, and Initial Impressions here: "New Member, First "real" Sword. Signature Series Hedemark" viewtopic.php?f=32&t=2410
Historical overview
Viking sword, I have not got the "types" part of sword qualification down. If I had to hazard a guess Type "S"
Full Disclosure
I bought this sword from the SBG store. I don't know anyone in the sword industry, personally or professorially.

Components

Handling Characteristics and Test Cutting (if applicable)
I am definitely not qualified to make comments here, I refer back to my first post: "New Member, First "real" Sword. Signature Series Hedemark", But for what it is worth, as a new sword owner, tho my swings were "awkward", and the "awkward" was all on me, NOT the Sword, I believe, in the hands of a moderately skilled swordsman, this weapon would be devastating. I think this is a safe statement to make because even though I poke fun at myself, I did get one good, "lucky" swing on the x-miss tree. It was a upward swing that cut clean through about 1 3/4 in. of green pine. It wasn't the thickness or thinness of the cut, it was that it "felt" effortless. At least compared to my crap swings. I'm going to assume here, that with training and practice I could get more of those effortless cuts.
Conclusions, Pros, Cons, Bottom Line
I really like this sword. "duh! big red truck" If someone asked me, and they like viking style swords and don't have 12K +\- to drop of a JP, I would tell them to get Signature Series Hedemark. This style of viking sword, the hilt and scabbard design are all pros. I don't have any cons. I would have no problem recommending the SBG store to others or ordering another sword from them, in fact I already did place another order.
