Glad to hear you're having a good time Paul, also a bit of feedback on your custom katanas, love the idea but I'm not too keen on the terminology so could you put a diagram of all the parts that you can choose the colors for? It'd help people like me who want to make sure they don't mess up the color scheme they had in mind.
Seriously though I'm glad you got some vacation time, I'm sure you've noticed we are all happy for you since you provide such a great and rare service by reviewing swords.

Hi Paul, I'm french, new here on your forum. As i read your journey in japan and see your daughter photo, the only thing i can say is "woaw, here is a lucky guy". Take care of you and her, and have nice time everywhere you walk.

I was actually looking to visit Japan over the Christmas holidays though was not able to book the proper tickets to make it through. It would have been a rally great time aside from having quite a few events lined up for this hobby, that is about the time cheery blossoms take their full bloom which is something me and my partner would really fancy.

Hey, this was a fun read! Man, to live in Japan. . . I've only been to Tokyo but I loved it. So, are you there yet?

Travel log is a great idea, some pics of the mundane would be interesting, bus stops, commuter trains, the hum drum of Japan that people don't usually see, the web is full of pics of Mt Fuji already. How are you getting on with the personal "space" issue, wondering because I watched the interplay between an exchange student from Japan and a couple of other students, it was quite funny watching them try to adjust to the Japanese student as her personal space was so much smaller. Meanwhile if you get your head above water you might like to give me your thoughts on the Raptor Wak. that Hanwei sent out, bloody woeful. viewtopic.php?f=19&t=13285
