I want to buy a newly forged one not an antique one from ebay. I would prefer a slight curve at any length, but a straight one is okay too. Anyone know of a place? Please let me know.

I assume you've already seen the $50 Windlass version? That's the only production Kindjal I know of, but perhaps John Lundemo of Odinblades could make you a custom one for a decent price? www.odinblades.comHope this helps, -Slayer

Hello Makoto Here are two places where you might find what you are looking for ; www.mineralmountain.com/kinjal.htm A bit pricey, but check out the Wasp and the BD, they might be more affordable and closer to what you want. traditionalarcherybows.com/ Check out this website. Chris (the owner/maker of that forge and those blades) can make custom blades for interesting price. Check his website and send him a pm if you want. Hope this helps !

Thanks guys, I knew if it was sharped steel I should look here first. I did not look here first and did not find what I was looking for, but both suggestions were spot on. Now for my second favorite part choosing...the my favorite part getting my hand on the steel implement of my choice.
Thanks and Merry Christmas

I just sent my own personal knife design to Chris and I am waiting on the quote. I figure if you are looking for a good knife design one and get a craftsmen to make it. I will post it when I get it...should be a while. Thanks for the links.

Just wanted to point something out; while that's a really nice looking knife, it's technically not a kindjal. The defining characteristic of a kindjal is its straight double-edged blade derived, in part, from the Roman Gladius, as well as sharing its shape with the Scottish Dirk. Sorry for splitting hairs, Sebastien.
Anyways, as Slayer mentioned earlier in the thread, there's the 50$ "Russian" version by Windlass, which would fit your criteria almost perfectly. It has a slight curve that's more pronounced towards the tip and is quite attractive, in my opinion. There's also the 55$ Cobra Steel version (also by Windlass), which is straight, but I believe would probably be more durable and lacks the bolsters in the handle that seem to be universally lamented. Both can be bought at Kult of Athena.

Thanks...I appreciate all the insight. I like the one from Windlass...and may pick it up at Atlanta Cutlery... I also see the Cobra version. I just like the slight curve of the "Russian" model.
But I think Sebastien knew they were not historically accurate or he knew I was looking for more of beater/cutter to cut with...but I do like the wealth of accurate info. for free here.
I also like the kick butt knives there at Mineral Mtn... I actually like the butcher...But I decided to send some of my own designs to some smiths and to buy a Condor Knife and Tool Golok machete. I may still buy the kinjal...but the research is more for a friend's wife so he gets a good blade.

I hope you will like what you will buy Pat Personnaly, I am aware that the suggestions I have made aren't very historically accurate. Historical Kinjals are very rare (they include Windlass and customs, AFAIK)... Which says alot considering Kinjals are an uncommon type of blade on the replica market.

I like both versions, but I've wanted the Russian model for years.
In that case, I do think the Windlass Kindjals would be better as beaters since they're inexpensive; while I wouldn't want to break any blade, if one did break under use, I'd rather it be a 50$ one than a 300$ one.
With the Mineral Mountain knives, I know what you mean. I like quite a few of his knives. Namely that massive push dagger, the large pig trail bowie, the ring dagger, and the mini Persian.
