you do understand that he is a very busy guy? YOU do know that he does bring his work home to complete his job and meet the customers time frame? Im sure when he gets the time to write you back, he will. I have all the trust in the world with kevin. He would not do anything bad to his customers.

If Hyoujinsama is offering polishing service...his hands are probably too sore to type you a reply. :? RIP hyoujinsama's fingers...the abuse from polishing is pretty rough. I think 3 months for a good polish job is fine but no longer than 6 at most. Give him some time

Chris Osborne has some people in his polishing que waiting over a year... as long as you have a sense of the time-frame before going into a deal and are ok with it... then the amount of time for polish work, much like custom swords, varies.

Szalba: Just to let you know, your post makes you look like a complete arse to be honest. I'm not trying to be rude but maybe you could have actually posted it in such a way that you aren't attacking the guy who offered the service. Life happens, sometimes at the worst of times and it is through no fault of their own, businessman or otherwise that it takes longer than expected. Try talking to some people from the KI project if you want to talk about a long time. If he gave you a time frame then your comments may be justified but not the way you've phrased it. Friendliest forum don't forget, you don't have to blow smoke but attacking people isn't on either. I hope you actually tried to talk to him before you decided to post this, because if you didn't then it is a bad showing on your part. Also when you say he decided to ignore you, how many times have you tried to contact him and in what time frame? Coming in here and saying such and such broke his promises etc without providing a reference again just makes you look bad. I remember one instance on the old forum where someone did likewise and it turned out that it had only been a week since they had actually placed the order. In the sword world, 6 months is a short time, especially for a full hand polish.

I, for one, would like to see this either addressed by Kevin, or not at all. Attacking the OP only stirs the cauldron of discontent. .02

Sorry to all those who think highly of Kevin. But this seems to be his MO and it does not settle well with most people. I would think that after this post: viewtopic.php?f=38&t=1044...he would have taken a hint and made some serious adjustments to the way he handles his transactions. Unfortunately it seems as though he does not care and that is the biggest slap in the face of all. For this to happen once or twice can be acceptable, but when it is a constant occurrence, it reflects poorly. And I don't think it is really the time frame that concerns people, it's Kevin's knack for ignoring PM's and not responding that get's peoples goat. Especially when he freely posts in other threads on this forum. If he has time to do that, he has more than enough time to respond to people who have trusted him with their swords and money. Midori, to be honest, you should probably back down out of this one and allow another moderator to take the helm. Your opinion of Kevin Kawakami can unfortunately only be seen as bias.

That^ was just uncalled for. The ONLY thing Midori did was to remind the posters in this thread to be civil! That's it. She has acted in a COMPLETELY professional and objective manner by NOT posting in this thread as a member. ANY mod. doing their job would have made that comment at that time. It is completely ridiculous to tell her to "back down." Back down from what? From asking politely for members to not ATTACK each other on this forum?! REALLY?! As long as the moderator of this section only "enforces" RULES WE ALL AGREED TO ABIDE BY, then NO member has the right to call their objectivity or performance into question. PERIOD. Come on, guys, use some common sense when phrasing things to each other (note that I did NOT address content) and there won't be a need for moderation in the first place.
Blessings, ~wp

i dont think that this makes him look like an arse, he's not really attacking somebody, yes he didn't post how long he waited to get a answer but you don't know either, so maybe he will responce and provide us more details on this situation...
and one of the most important things in business is communication, i do that even if i have problems or less time

The point is......anything she says, whether posted in good intentions and with perfect professionalism may still only be seen as bias. Just the fact that some may not feel as though they are acting uncivil and her stating they are when the subject at hand is about her other half can be seen as bias. In a civil or criminal case, you wouldn't want the judge to be the uncle of either the plaintiff or the defendant. Kinda the same thing here. So I just think it best if a different moderator look at this thread. I was not rude in my response. I said it may unfortunately be seen as bias. And I although I agree with her that it needs to be kept civil, I just think it should be done by another mod. No one should be attacking szabla, period. He posted his experience and disappointment. Take what you want from it, but he obviously does not stand alone.

Okay folks, here's the deal. First off, anyone who can percieve bias in Midoris statement should really take a long look at themselves. Second, and more importantly, it appears to me that szalba is posting this after repeated atempts to contact Kevin to, in his view, no avail. He then posted a members feedback to express his frustration at the situation. What I haven't seen is a post from szabla stating any timeframe promised from Kevin, and think that would help to understand his frustration.
Lastly, lets not let this thread turn into a "taking sides" discussion. And above all, keep it civil, polite, and free of slander. If this thread gets out of hand, as I believe it has great potential to do so, it will be locked by me. As long as it sticks to the rules, anyone can express dissatisfaction with another members services/sales in a respectful way!

Avery, I did not find Midori's post bias nor did I say it was bias. I recommended that she should let another mod deal with this because her involvement may "unfortunately be seen as bias" by others. It was my intention, as is yours, to keep this civil in case someone perceived it as such. I have no ill intentions towards Kevin or Jenn. And I don't think Kevin has ill intentions either, I stated that in the other thread. He simply needs to take a more mature and professional approach with his transactions as I had hoped he had learned from previous experience. It just doesn't seem as if he has. I've experienced the same thing as szabla and others have with Kevin and those that are coming down on szabla should not be. Especially if they have not dealt with Kevin.

Well THIS Mod is going to lock this thread for 24 hours... it has gone too far afeild of its intent... feedback. All the petty bickering from uninvolved peanuts is bogging down the thread. So locked for 24 hours... after that it will reopen in case Kevin should decide to respond...
Cheers

Thread now unlocked again....
People , play nice !
Szabla and anyone else having done business with Kevin are well within their rights leaving feedback here... anyone else really has no reason to post.
Thanks,
Marc
