Has anyone seen if someone makes a copy of the angellic swords used in Supernatural? They look like fairly simple short swords with very thin blades, and a lot of polish and/or silver fittings... shouldn't be too hard...
I'm kind of surprised that I haven't been able to find at least some pics of one (much less someone that actually has them for sale) given how popular the series is...

Is the series really that popular? I've seen maybe 2 random episodes of it... and I don't know anyone who follows it regularly.

I'm actually a big fan of the series. It's a very clever and well written show, if you like the subject matter. As far as the angelic knife goes, I haven't seen one either. I don't think it's featured enough to make it mass marketable, but could definitely be done custom I would think.

Well... It won the People's Choice Award for best Sci-Fi/Fantasy show last year (plus two Emmy nominations)... and it's into it's Sixth Season... So I guess they're doing something right.
But I'll freely admit that it might not be for everyone... Point is... it has Angels, and those Angels have swords... and I want to know if they're available... Sure I plan on getting mostly traditional pieces for my collection... but I want some fantasy inspired swords too... and a sword used by Angels seemed like a fun idea.

I wouldn't mind one of the angel's blades from Supernatural, that's a fun little show. I catch it every week, and I don't watch much TV.

Just to be clear... I was not trying to say the show sucks. Like I said, I've only seen a couple episodes. However, I am a huge fan of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre... as are a lot of my friends. I don't watch it and none of them do either... so I was surprised to hear the show called 'popular' when no one I know watches it.

I believe (But don't know this for sure) that the show has a relatively small but extremely devoted fan base. The market for something like the angel's blade would be similarly small, I won't argue that. Anyway, I for one didn't take it that you were saying the show sucked, just that it's not your cup of tea, no harm no foul.

I searched and looked and pried into corners, and I can not find a picture of the sword of which you speak.
Do you have any pics, tracings, or rock carvings of it?
I never watched the show because they could have picked a much cooler Impala to ride around in, but I will give it a look the next time that I see it on.

Actually, it might very much be my cup of tea... I don't know. Somehow I never got into the show... I recall seeing an epp about warewolf hunters I think... or Vampire Hunters, I'm not sure... and the focus of the other epp seemed to be the brothers finding their father. Normally, the way I get plugged into a TV show is I hear about it ebfore it starts and it sounds interesting.... and so I DVR it and if the first few epps are good... I'll watch. If I missed the begaining, the only way I ever get plugged in to a program and then go looking for the earlier epps is if a friend recommends it. I've gotten into a lot of shows that way... but in this case no one I know watches Supernatural... and I never cought the first epps... so I have no idea if I'd liek the show or not. Those Angel weapons do look pretty small... almost stiletto like.

several of my friends and I all follow the show regularly. It was in it's 3rd season before I got into it though. Before that I had seen a couple of episodes and thought it was nice, but not something I could get into and then my friend loaned me the first two seasons and watching it from the beginning got me hooked.

GREAT show, my fiance and I watch it religiously... The blade in question kinda looks like a pimped out rondel dagger IMHO.

Here's a link to the best set of pictures I've found so far... www.supernaturalwiki.com/index.php?title=Angel_Killing_SwordI think Darius might be right... it does bear a strong resemblance to an oversized rondel dagger... maybe closer in size to a gladius... but overall it's still a fairly small blade.

I think the one's they use on the show come in a few different sizes, I've seen episodes where they're smaller then larger...not by much though.

Just finished watching my way through the series and I was so annoyed with how likeable the demons were and how arse hatty the angels were. That is neither here nor there, I enjoyed the series though I think several things should have been done differently but was nice to have a series that finished.
Anyway I have to disagree that the angel killing blade looks like a rondel. It looks more like a silver torch with a triangular blade, though in some episodes it looks like a diamond cross sectioned two edged blade. I quite like the style of it to be honest, extremely good for switching orthodox and unorthodox grips, though I think when push came to shove the handle design would be a pain in the proverbial to actually use in a combat situation. I much prefer the stag handled demon knife, though the serrations are pointless.

Yeah... with the exception of Cas(siel) most of the Angels ARE dicks (to use a term my friends are fond of using in ref to the Supernatural Angels).... it probably comes from all that "holier than thou" mumbo jumbo.... I also think the writers gave them a little bit of the Christopher Walken/The Prophecy resentment for mankind (talking monkeys) to add to their bitterness too... Still... when it comes to laying waste to baddies, nothing can get down and biblical like a host of Angels (or just one Archangel)

Hey, Sean, I watch Supernatural! And you know me, riiiiiiiiiiight? My profile pic/avatar (whatever it's called) is of Dean Winchester from the show (though I'm liable to change it into an itsy-bitsy image of my own face some time in the near future). I actually thought about making a thread to summon all of the Supernatural fans on SBG while we were still on the old forum... yes, summon. Because making a Supernatural thread would obviously be a nefarious undertaking. Yeah, something like that. "I am the prophet Chuck!" Personally, I'm not too interested in the Angel daggers... even though I'm kind of a Supernatural nerd. More interested in getting a 4-door '67 Impala (which is bloody well hard to find listed for sale in the entire United States, much less on the east coast) and an engraved, nickel-plated 1911 like the one Dean frequently carries. Or maybe a Castiel action figure. I think it's also because both the demon and angel knives look like props to me than actual tools/weapons that someone [normal] would use. Then again, they're not supposed to be normal knives, eh? Good to see I wasn't the only person on SBG to be a fan of Supernatural. Then again, SBG hasn't let me down yet.

to be honest, It has a great theme to it and a good story but the recent season has turned to crap I think. ghost's and demons are what we all know....now its vampires....Its gone down a trend that has turned the whole vampire theme to crap (THANK YOU TWILIGHT!!!)

They've had vampires for a long time now in that series. I believe they made their first appearance towards the end of the first season. You must've seen only part of that episode (in the 6th season) that pokes fun at/parodies Twilight ("Live Free or Twi-Hard", I believe the episode is called). Otherwise, they play their version of vampires straight (y'know, with the crazy shark-like teeth and how you can only kill them via decapitation, etc and not Twilight-like at all). The latest season so far isn't too focused on vampires at all, only that one episode do they even really get an appearance (okay, fine and the other episode with the Alpha) and the general story is about something else, not vampires. I would say more, but that would involve spoilers. Also, I found your post a bit confusing, since (from the way I read it) it sounds like you're saying that season 6 is all about vampires. However, it could just be that I'm misunderstanding/misreading your post. Anyways, off-topic. Sorry, OP.
