I'm very pleased with this so I'm sharing it on several forums so apologies if you've seen it elsewhere Regulation pattern Royal Artillery pattern Officer's Sword. The blade etched with an entwined crowned VR cypher and regimental title. The hilt with open three bar guard and the grip with shagreen and twist wire binding. Housed in polished brown leather field service scabbard. Blade length: 35.5 inches Overall length: 41.5 inches Weight: 2lb 1oz POB: 6inches Width at ricasso: 1.03 inches, 26.3mm Thickness at ricasso: 0.32 Inches,8.1mm Thickness at half way point: 0.26 inches,6.6mm Thickness 2 inches from tip: 0.12 inches, 3.2mm Serial No.: M3759 Auction hammer price £100 :mrgreen: It just goes to show that you can pick up genuine sword for less than many replicas and not have to worry about authenticity, correct balance and is the steel the right sort.

congrats on acquiring a very nice R-A! Bet you are very chuffed about the purchase.
I have a Fenton Bros. G-V Royal Artillery in my collection, it's need's a proper grip replacement ,but still a fine sword. Did see you post on SFI board.
