I'm pretty sure there was a review on this one somewhere in the old forum... a really bad one at that. I wouldn never buy a sword from a manufacturer I know nothing about- the risk of wasting your money on a piece of junk is pretty big. Anyway, try and disassemble it and see if the tsuka is properly secured to the blade(this means 2 pegs) and if the tang goes in at least 3/4 of the way. And even if everything is OK there I still would have my doubts, that black finish on blade really doesn't look good to me, considering the price it'll probably come off after a few cutting sessions. And there is no way to find out if it's been heat- treated. If I were you, I'd go with the Tenchi.

hey man.. overall its a nice redo of ichigos sword.... i purchased the actual size version the real long one thats the same scale as it would be in the anime... when it comes to bleach or any anime swords for that matter buy em if your into the series cuz lookin cool is about all they do wwell...if your looking for something to seriously cut with DEF get the tenchi! but hey if it was real cheap and u like bleach keep it! and if you have the money get the tenchi too!

I have not seen this sword. I probably wouldn't like it but that doesn't mean it isn't any good. 1060, even if it is completely untreated will not be dangerous. it would be bendy and crappy, but not dangerous. I suspect this sword will have been heat treated. so the real question is: are the fittings fit tightly enough that they don't slip off and around so much as to make your grip unsure? is the tsuka (handle) whole and not cracked from being jammed on? if these things are good then it is up to you if you like the sword well enough to keep it.
Cheness Tenchi for $80 ain't bad either tho.

Well I returned the one to the Pawn Shop upon finding out I could get a new one for a little bit more and looked at the other sword it was definitely not a Tenchi. I'm pretty sure the Tensa Zangetsu is actual size based on how looks, though I don't know the exact length according to Tite Kubo (Mangaka of Bleach). Either way I think I'm going to look into something that will actually be able to cut and won't sustain any damage either. Any recommendations? I don't want to spend too much, definitely not much more than $300, but preferably something below 200. This would be my first real sword as well.

how about for under $100? For a "Introductory katana" It's hard to go wrong with the Musashi Bamboo. The fittings aren't the greatest in the world, but that's really the only complaint I've ever heard about it. FYI fittings are going to be your biggest complaint within this price bracket. By all other accounts, however, it's one heck of a beater. kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=SS806BL

There is also SwordnArmory's Munetoshi Beaters for $80. Never handled one, but are supposed to be tough as hell. Looks a little cliche' but overall it's supposed to be a great sword. www.swordnarmory.com/Handmade-10 ... 3102-s.htm There is also the Ebay seller Huawei. They sell some nice looking spring steel blades for around $100. But you have to pay the $50 shipping fee from China. They can also make a mostly custom kat for you. Last I checked, a spring steel custom kat costs around $180 with them. stores.ebay.com/huaweiswords?_rdc=1

they make two versions... one which is actual usable sword length (like the one in the link u provided) and there is another that is actual anime superhuman size haha you cant use it but it sure looks awesome the blade alone is 48 inches! haha its crazy the tsuka is like 15 so the whole sword is like over 5 ft long! but like i said if u wanna actually use a sword get something like the others suggested a cheness or munetoshi or those 100 dollar DH musashis they are all great!

I decided to go with one of the Munetoshi T10 Swords. They had a 15% and free shipping on ebay through swordnarmory so it only cost me $135 for what should be a pretty good sword from what I've read. And MikeS are you taking about the Zangetsu or the Tensa Zangetsu? I don't think Ichigo's Bankai sword is that big. His Shikai state is ridiculous though.

first off man i will DEFINETELY RECOMMEND THE MUNETOSHI MATSU OR ANY OF THEIR KATS! i have a Ronin swords deshi which at the time was an amazing sword i paid almost 600 for it and it was worth every penny ...the irony is besides the silver habaki seppa menuki etc etc and the black laquered same' that were custom options and i paid extra for (base price was 400 i think) it turned out that the person was basically buying munetoshi doing some stuff to them and selling them as their own...but regardless of that semprini the blade is tough as nails VERY SHarp very tough very scratch resistant and FROM WHAT IVE EXPERIENCED a absolutely KILLER DEAL for 150 bucks or less! remeber i was satisfied 3 years ago paying 5 times that for it! so they are def good swords for sure ! and on a side note!.....> no im positive they are both as tall as him... they show in one of the scenes (well several really) that show its proportions well in the one specifically they show him kinda hump it over his back and withe the tsuka above his head the tip almost touches the ground.... they make two versions of both the shikai and bankai the shikai is awesome but as you can imagine if that were made as tall as him (like in the manga/anime) out of steel it would weigh like 50 pounds haha so they make a big one out of wood and a smaller replica out of steel that is 40 inches total length... the bankai sword is the same deal they make one that is of actual human useable size like the one you linked to..and then they sell the one as tall as him for tensa also but unlike the full size shikai the bankai is made of S.Steel so at least its not wood...(although they make an intermediate size also which is 52 inches OAL but IS wooden) but its so big its realy just a wall hanger you can actually hold it though even though weilding it with ANY presicion or safety is out of the question! haha its cool though if your a fan of the manga/anime (which i am and u are to id asume!) they sell a 40 inch OAL. shikai in SS and a 52 inch (more accurate sized) but wood..and they sell a 42 inch OAL. bankai made of various steels dependant on company SS-1060 and then one company makes a full size display only (StainlessSteel) which is almost 5 ft OAL....i think they did it that way so if you wanna do cosplay you can get the shorter lighter blades to carry around and then for purely collecting they made the big ones which are more true to the anime but unuseable for anything other than display.. google around for ichigo bleach tensa zangetsu ull see theres several versions as follows: tensa zangetsu full size; www.amazon.com/Bleach-Ichigo-Ten ... B001TBWQT2 (SS the one i have) 68 inches tensa zangetsu shorter version; ur link 40-ish inches zangetsu shikai; www.heavenlyswords.com/product.p ... ctid=16352 (wood) 52 inches and i know they also sell a smaller more practical S.S. version of the shikai too

I've actually got a high carbon full tang version of Tenza zangetsu its not the right size, its your standard katana length but its nice, got it for about 60 way back in the day one of my first swords, but going with what the topic has turned into, i think the blade on tenza is about as long as ichigo is tall but its hard telling it seems to change size in the anime and manga (as did the shape of zangetsu-shikai) yet no one seems to notice xD i guess thats just Kubo's art style.

Sorry, I know I'm kinda late but I saw something about BLeach and knew I had to read. Tenza Zangetsu is an O'Dachi Blade, it's supposed to be just as long as Zangetsu in its Shikai form.

Actually, Tensa Zangetsu is not an odachi or nodachi in any sense of the word. The blade of an odachi is usually 65-70" long or longer with a proportional tsuka, whereas the nodachi's blade was usually around 4' in length (reproductions usually place the blade at 47" or so) with a comparatively short tsuka (usually around 15-16").
However, Tensa Zangetsu is nothing more than a daito with very little sori; based on images of Ichigo's initial usage of bankai during his fight with Byakuya, as well as Byakuya's own remarks that it is "just an ordinary zanpakuto", it is likely that Tensa Zangetsu is 44.6" overall, being approximately 2/3 Ichigo's height of 5' 7". The tsuka appears to be about 13-14", meaning the blade is, at best, 30-31" in length, so, in actuality, the functional reproductions of Tensa Zangetsu that put it at about 41" overall are actually the closest in size to the anime sword.

I have been getting really frustrated with Bleach lately. I was ok with them taking a break from the main story for the new years episode but dang it let's get back on track.
I know they want to stay with the manga so they have to take breaks once in a while and do side story but man there's been a lot of it.
I'm ready for the show to end. I like it but it needs to end.

That's why I quit watching the anime. The fillers were a pain, but then, the manga can be that way, too; the major arc ended and then they launched into a new one. It wouldn't have been a happy ending, but ending it with that arc would have been a good place to do it.
