hello. I just saw this: mymarket.ge/product_info.php?typ ... _id=917025 on internet and really liked it. the price as you can see is 800$. basically, I want to ask if it is worth it? I know nothing about ww2 daggers in generally and how much they cost. thanks.

From what I can see, it's a fake. Look at the pattern on the ribbon. Although the Heer Dagger was made in different factories, all the ribbons for these were produced in the same textile mill. There should be two light bars with dark borders running lengthwise down the ribbon. This one has two dark bars with light borders. There should also be a square leaf-cluster on each of the mounting clips. In addition, the item looks really rough (fake patina) for an authentic Heer Dagger. These were fairly finely crafted pieces. If you're in the market for one of these, really do your research. There's an abundance of fakes on the market. And when you do find one . . . in excellent condition . . . the going price should be more like 5 or 6 hundred.

I concur with Dodger, that last picture of the blade looks iffy...here are some to look at though pretty pricey. I don't see the engraving on the blade and guard from the maker. (3rd pic) www.johnsonreferencebooks.com/ca ... index.html

Fake. Not even a good one, either. Blade is probably stainless, color of grip is wrong, casting looks crude even in the lousy pictures they put up.
