Wait, have the Chikara fans never seen a Hanwei Bushido?

I actually like the tsuba - wasn't some of them square-ish historically?
Anyway, I think a fantasy sword is more then just being ahistorical - to me, a fantasy sword is a sword that is meant to evoke the feeling of coming from a culture that does not actually exist, preferably while having a sort of larger then life aestetic going on as well.

I have, and it's a nice sword, but the enhanced, dishonest looking hamon is a major turn-off, same gripe with bugei and even nihonto polished to look like that, natural or nothing

The DSA FoA sucks! It handles like shite and looks like it too. If you want to get a FoA get the Gen2 one...It is close to the design that Adam Sharp designed.

I have the Valiant warder, and while I wish the hilt was longer, it actually handles pretty well. And that's the Valiant production sword, which is supposedly kinda inferior to Lundemo's prototype.
But over-all, I do prefer his more katana-ish warder designs.

Guardian Warder. That is all.
As for the production Warder, if it weren't so counterproductive, I'd give my left arm to get my hands on one. It's almost everything I like in a sword in one package: curved, single edged blade? Check. Hand-and-a-half? Check. Up-swept guard? Check.

I've heard from a few people who owned them that the handling on the VA warder was slightly whippy and off (whippy may not bew the right word, it was sometime last year) and overall in my questioning I found most people saying they didn't care much for it.
But a lot of forum posts in public seem to be ok with it so I guess it comes down to, after my checking, a 'meh' purchase. And given I asked about a customized one well before Thanksgiving and never received a reply back from VA, that also turned me off to it.
YMMV, just presenting the reasons behind my opinion.

Guardian Warder. That is all.
now there is a nice blade. my only issue with the other one is that the wider tip makes it look awkward

Don't like the side rings, the habaki like piece, or the pommel on the Guardian Warder... I DO like my pretty green Verrimus, which, if I'm lucky, should arrive any second now... Damn you USPS! Where are you?!?!?

The Guardian is a damn nice sword.
I haven't found the VA Warder very whippy at all, and I'm used to swinging around a big sturdy katana. For a relatively thin blade with fairly little distal taper, it's pretty stiff.
The problem with it is that it just doesn't cut very well at all. I mean, some people manage to cut with it, somehow. I just keep batting my bottles, causing small nicks. Apparently there is something off about the edge geometry and mass of the blade.
Sadly, I now mostly use it to decorate my wall.
See, if you put the Guardian blade on the Verrimus, and keep the Verrimus guard but add the Guardian's side rings... then we pretty much have my ideal warder, I think.

I have to concur with Anders on the Warders stiffness. There is nothing about it (at least the example that I own) that lends itself to floppiness, whippiness, or an overly flexible blade.
I did have to spend some time( a good bit) on mine, polishing the edge to what is close to Kat sharpness before I felt like I didn't have to power it through a target. It would cut right out of the box, but it felt like I was doing more work than the blade was.

When it comes to swords, I like my swords more realistic. Straight bladed Euros or curved katana and sabres the way they were found to be effective in history. But on occasion the urge for something fantastical comes along and then I like to see something out of the artwork of Final Fantasy or the Tales series
