I am going to have to e-mail Frank to see what he can get. I just came from work and have to log back on from home. I want to see what I want from KH and see if Frank can get them I like the Charra (sp). Heck I like and want them all. It would be nice to get different sizes.

Can't wait to hear more about what you will get man I don't know much about KH, I heard they are selling slightly cheaper and slightly less well-made kukris than HI. Not a bad thing, the HI kukri that I have** is a very, very well-made blade, but getting the same blade new would cost you around 150 $... So, if you get one or more of these KH kukris, bring us some pics and feedback **Here's a review that I've made on the old forum, about my HI Kukri, have a look if you want ; sbgswordforum.proboards.com/inde ... 797&page=1

I just bought the HI 18 inch Sirupati Sirupati18 for $140, no S&H. The funny thing is that I wanted only to see what the Shipping and handling would be. Usually, they have a "finalize order" button. this way I would be able to see what the shipping and handling would be. Well, they did not add it and the next thing I knew was that I had bought it. LOL
Had I known that here was not a charge for S & H...I may have looked more closely at the other knives and bought a few. But, an 18 inch blade is just right for now..
I am just glad that I was able to remember the name of the knife that Sébastien reviewed.
I will buy more, either From Frank, HI.

Hmm, that's odd. Sucks when you accidentally buy something, but what the hell, it's a HI Kuk, so it's not like you blew $140.

No worries on the Sirupati. This is their description
The Sirupati, traditional khukuri of the Rai and Limbu people of Eastern Nepal, is quick and agile which makes it a favorite of martial artists. Excellently balanced. Light but still strong enough to do a heavy day's work
However, I might have gotten the 18 inch Ang Khola for $175
18 inches overall, about 1/2 inch thick, 2 to 2.5 pounds depending on the kami who made the knife, usually wood handle. For serious chopping. Limited Lifetime Warranty $175

Their Ang Kholas are beefy, but that's about all the credit I can give them over a normal kuk; about the only line by HI that stands out to me is their Kobra line, which is practically kurkri swords.
They'e got a few good takes on a lot of the more varied regional styles, but so does KH...the latter cheaper, but not significantly lesser...but that said, the two (and a half?) kuks I have, being the standard service model I've had some four years, the 15" Sirupate I picked up off another member here, and a 2-3" mini I got the same time as the service model...I'm really digging deep for a reason to get another. :x

I have been pulling my hair out between KH and HI... I like the way that KH has the size of the blade noted and also the detailed description. Even with the $50.00 shipping and handling (for the first knife)they are still a little cheaper and the delivery time is only about 10-12 days. It does appear that the handles are about six inches, so if you bought a 18 inch knife, 6 inches is the handle and 12 for the blade. If you want to know about the blade designs and the dynamics, please check out the below link from HI. www.himalayan-imports.com/Khukuri_Dynamics.html

If you are looking for a deal on HI, go to bladeforums.com and go to the HI section, they often have deals of the day where you can pick up lovely kukhri for really good prices.

I received the Himalayan Imports Sirupati 18'' Kukri today. It is everything that Sebastian stated in his review.
It is not "bottle cutting" sharp and definitely can not cut tatamis (out of the box). it did cut through the box like butter. But it very well suited for "general" use. It comes with a Limited Lifetime Warranty and the Sirupati is considered a general use knife. General use is defined as "Clearing light brush, light household chores, capping or skinning of game.
The Ang khola, Ganga Ram, and the bone cutter just to name a few are suited for Chopping wood, limbing trees, arms ETC. These are also covered under the warranty.
I need to get an Ang Kohla or Ganga Ram

Sebastian
I could not resist buying another one. This time I ordered from KH. I picked up the Panawal "No Mercy". It has an 18" blade and meant for serious chopping. I was looking for a Kurk that I can really use to chop some wood. I would have went with the 20 " Ang Khola, but that was $225 and the Panawal was %164 including shipping and handling.
Even though I was truly impressed with the quality of the HI and the Sirupati I thought that I would give KH a shot. I do not expect the type of polish and the engraving of the HI items, but for a potential "beater/workhorse" KH seamed like a good choice for the price.

I own the Windlass Khukri. It's not a bad knife, but it came to me basically unsharpened (despite paying extra for sharpening service) and the sheathe is SUPER loose. Also, it comes with two utility knives as opposed to the traditional utility knife and chamak. Beyond that, however, it's not bad at all.
Hilariously, it's only got me wanting to get ANOTHER kukri, this time likely from kukri house. I've seen some reviews of their stuff on youtube and I'm simply in. love.
Hope this was helpful.

I got the 18” Panawal from HI delivered on Tuesday. This is a beast...... More details later, but one must have strong wrists and forearms for this one.
It took about a month....

I've been tossing around the idea of getting a kukri for a while.
I'm kind of leaning toward the M43 from HI, but I also really like the 18" Ganga Ram.

Yeah tell me about it. I bought a X Special (Vengence) kukri from The Khukri House and it has a 15" blade thats 7/16" thick at the handle and weighs 3 lbs. You definitely need strong wrists and forearms to wield it effectively.
