I'm a bit of a boker freak- resulting from buying so many boker knockoffs that I decided to learn about the real brand. I've read all kinds of stuff on them, looked through many catalogs, spoken to licensed dealers, and even talked a bit with poeple at boker usa.
boker lines run from average to totally sweet
boker plus is made in china under supervision and with quality control checks. boker magnum is also made in the far east kind of a step up- kind of just another branch. boker arbolito is their south american brand. gorm is a kitchen knife offshoot. they also made damascus blades, ceramic, and everything in between.
their best knives arfe usually branded 'boker', nothing else- it's their name and they've always kept their top of the line product connected right to it.
With boker you really do get what you pay for. their prices are not inflated- if it costs more that's because it's a better knife.

cool, i was looking at a couple on basspro.com, and since i have a store literally 7 miles from my condo, was thinking about looking into maybe getting one of their damascus blades. Just didnt know anything about the company itself. I was looking at this one, but would have to order it. Bass pro has a couple of nice folders. budk.com/Knives/Boker-Magnum-Nob ... e-Damascus?

Well, here's the link to that knife and it's corresponding line: www.boker.de/us/onlinecatalog/20 ... ng-summer/ boker catalog says this line, Magnum Damascus, is authentic layered stuff- no etching or faking it. The noblesse has 49 layers. MSRP is $50 as stated by boker and budk. here's a vid on how they make knives, in Germany though, not Asia.

bokers are good stuff. the best bokers IMO are boker plus series. like the 3000 lite, excalibur G4 and so on....

I was looking to drop about a $100 or so on a Boker, but changed my mind to get some cheaper Condor Knife and Tool stuff. Here is what I was looking at www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/store ... s=BO121918 Here something I would like to have www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/store ... O121917DAM The handle is similar to my old one...but it was a skinner of some sort. I have owned a few (stolen years ago) folder and one cool fixed blade with a stag handle...plus the cool eating set for the backpack. I loved them...curse the theif that took them...but I say that blade looks pretty damn cool.
