from reading on this site, i get the impression that DSA swords are often unneccessary heavy for "normal use" (for stage combat more steel might be better). so my question is DSA daggers also unneccessarily heavy?
i ask because i have a DSA Medieval Knight dagger with a scabbard who needs some work, but if there are any good, lighter, but still keeping a 12" blade, and comes with a good scabbard, i might just buy a new one.

Well they are. But because dagger ain't swords, you will notice the extra weight a lot less with a DSA dagger.
As for getting a new dagger...does it have to be a quillion style dagger or is a rondel or bollock style okay? Tod's stuff has the english cutlery line and there are some nice rondel with 13 inch blades for 90 GBP and 120 GBP along with a very nice bollock dagger with a 13 inch blade for 125 GBP as well. I getting at least the misericord (a nice simple 13 inch dagger)from that site...and probably more...soon.

It all depends what you want it for. If you're going to subject it to use and abuse, the DSA line is hard to beat for sheer durability.

While not exactly a quillion dagger, I do like this windlass dagger www.kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=402536&name=Medieval+DaggerOtherewise, I while it doesn't meat the length requirement, A&A quillion daggers are 180 bucks and are quite nice. And Tod's english cutlery has quillion daggers for 68 and 79 GBP...but those are also not 12 inch blades. Those are the daggers I would get that even remotely fit what you want.
