Hey guys, I was thinking about getting this knife as a Christmas present for my Dad. He saw it in an Atlanta Cutlery catalog and really liked it. www.atlantacutlery.com/p-2074-p3 ... aster.aspx Has anyone had any experience with this knife? I am not familiar with the Ontario brand, if anyone has pros/cons with the brand please share! Finally, what is a good website to purchase knives from? I've tried my usual sword haunts with not much luck. Thanks! Attachments:

Hello Orion ! I don't have any experience with this knife, but I own a couple of knives from Ontario Knife and they are well-made, quality products. Also, this company has a good reputation. Here are two knife sellers that offer better price than Atlanta Cutlery, for the same product ; yourcornerstore.com/index.php?ma ... s_id=32923 www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/store ... tml?s=ONP3 Yourcornerstore is cheaper than knifecenter, but it can take some time before you receive that knife if it isn't in-stock (I just had to wait a month for a shipment from them, because the four knives I ordered were out of stock). Hope this helps, happy shopping man

The Ontario Knife Co. is comparable to Ka-bar in the type/quality of work. In fact, OKC is currently making M9 bayonets for the US military (used to Buck knives). I think he'd really like it - I know I would.

Thanks Sebastien, thats some great info! I've never purchased a knife online before and was unsure of the reputation of some websites I found, so thank you very much for your suggestions! +1 to you sir!
Hall and chris, thanks to you guys as well! I'm glad Ontario is a reputable company, I was worried it was some kind of knock-off brand. Your opinions helped a lot!!

You're welcome Orion BTW, of these two websites, I recommend knifecenter the most. Their costs are slightly higher but they have quicker shipping, shipment number and give you some small free gifts if you subscribe to their newsletter, check it out.

Thanks for the feedback Jim! Based on everyone's comments, it sound like this knife will make a great gift for him. Perhaps I can sneak in a little review here before I give it to him...

Go for it Orion. As everyone has said above, Ontario is a quality company. I have a few of their military/bowie style knives and they're awesome. The blade you're looking at for your dad reads good to me (steel, tang, handle, and price). Ontario usually gives you a lot of knife for the money. That will make a thoughtful gift.
