Hey gang! I just wanted to let everyone know that the much sought after Windlass Qama is now in stock at our beloved Kult of Athena. There was a peak in interest in this $35 dollar short sword a month ago and then it seemed like every place that we buy swords had run out of them all at once. So in case, tho's of you who had been looking at buying one of these, you haven't found one yet, it's back. And if Mod's deem this thread more appropriate in a sub forum, move away. I wasn't exactly sure where to classify the blade, but it seems like the sword community in 'general' was interested. I've ordered it and a review will be done the very day it arrives.

I'll look forward to it, Greg! Thanks for the update. I still want a kindjal, personally, though. -Slayer

I really can't pass up this little thing.
Basically, I've had a bad taste in my mouth ever since I picked up the "Trooper Saber" from Atlanta Cutlery. Granted it was a sword, and it kinda had a temper, well, I just haven't really cut with it except once to see how it felt.
But being able to knock out 2 birds with this qama is great. I've always wanted a shortsword/gladius type thing, and I've wanted to find a REALLY good blade for less then 50 bucks. Ok, so maybe it won't be REALLY good, but with a few modifications, I expect it to be in my normal rotation of cutters.

you should visit my country then... you'll get to choose from tons of different kindjals (sadly, these are the only real swords that I can buy without going to kultofathena or such internet vendors... I'm not really interested in them though...)

The only thing I don't like about the Quam is the rivet things holding the handle on. They are not "uber" comfortable.

I think that I need to pick up the Qama
I got the Cobra Steel Kopis and the Falcata last week. By the way, I saw on KOA site that the Falcata is 1095 steel.
Does anyone know what the Kopis or the Qama is made of?

Was the Qama sharpe? Cobra Steel Kopis was not sharp at all but the Cobra Steel Falcata went the with of the blade in a cardbooard bow.
Please advise if you sharped the Qama and what did you use?

Hello Vince, I got a quick question here for you ; How good are the two Cobra Steel blades that you bought ? Are they well-made ? Do they seem like good backyard cutters ? Thanks

Sébastien and Vincent
They seem to be very well made.
The Falcata is 1095 steel and weighs over a 1lb. Very durable cutter and was quite sharp. great for every day use outside
The Kopis, (Mine at least) needs some sharpening but is a gem outdoors. I would highly recommend them. They really are a better deal than the survival knives that I have bought. A lot cheaper too.
Actually, they impressed me enough that I would love to get the whole line..
They can be used as machetes...

I just got the Cobra Steel Kindjal a few days back. So far, it appears to be an excellent sword/knife for the money. Everything was ship shape OOB and the thing handles very sound, solid and fast. I like this one so much that I'm all over that Lakonia next payday. Get one. If your okay with the fact the handle is rubber-like, and, has a little odor of it, I don't think you'll be disappointed. OH! And, by the way, the Qama is the best buy on a large knife/small sword to be found, IMHO. Think I need to add another one to the collection myself.
