Cheness Mokko Katana review by Richard Williams of Evansville IN USA.
I've had my eye on this katana for a while now. When I found out I could use my review points I ordered it from the SBG store. It was a regular $199.99 and I got it for $129.99. Thank you Mr. Southren!

1060 Carbon Steel Katana - "Mokko"
Now in its third generation, the Mokko was the first of Cheness Cutleries through hardened.
1060 Carbon Steel Blades, and remains one of the best built beaters available for under
$200. While the blade itself is not quite as tough as the 9260 Spring Steel swords,
the Mokko is highly scratch resistant, its superior heat treatment allow it to flex enough
to return to true on a bad cut and it has the most roll and chip resistant 1060 Carbon
steel blade anywhere. You would really have to be going out of your way to destroy this sword

It arrived at my door in about a week. Fast shipping considering the holiday.
I agree with the vendor information as stated. This katana is solid and tight. I like the look and feel of it.
Sorry about the picture quality, working on learning this camera.
The katana came with this fancy box, inside a nice black bag.
The blade fit snug in the saya, no rattle.
The kashira was of a simple yet attractive design.
The menuki are solid of a creature I can't make out.
the ito is tight and the same looks good.
The meguki are wood, bamboo maybe.
The tsuba is also simple but of a pleasing shape.
The kurikata and sageo are a bit large for my taste.
The spine of the blade is a little better than 1/4 in. at the tsuba, tapering to 3/16 in. at the yokote.
Blade is 1 1/4 wide at the tsuba.
I would rather not have the faux hamon.
Blade is 7/8 in. wide at the yokote.
The blade arrived paper sharp.
On to the fun part:
This sword cut very well and was easy and fun to use. Tough also
I wacked the hell out of my stand before filming. I also clipped it a few times on the video, no damage what so ever on the sword.
I will bypass the usual summation as I'm not very knowledgable about katana.
However in my opinion this sword is a great buy for the full price and I got it for a steal.
