One of the things we strive to avoid at the SBG sword forum are unfair and biased sword brand comparisons and discussions – especially generalizations and impressions NOT based on first hand experience.
To this end, when making comparisons between sword brands please ensure that you either reference an issue that you are referring to if it is not first-hand experience or try to back it up with some pics if it is.
Generalizations are anathema to truly understanding what various manufacturers have to offer, but ‘forum whispers’ – where an old forum post from somewhere is used time and time again to make an issue look bigger than it really ever was – are even worse and do nothing to contribute to our knowledge base.
It is also very important to be as transparent as possible about your own personal biases or preferences when making comments about a brand or comparing one to another.
While this preferred format is a guideline rather than a rule – it is extremely important that any comparisons conform to both our slander policy and general posting rules, especially rule 5 which states:
Thanks for your co-operation!

P.S. Remember, you can ALWAYS say what you feel about a brand, just be mindful about how you say it and back up any claims you make respectfully and thoughtfully. It ain't a witch hunt!

5. Keep other Members’ threads on topic by not derailing or otherwise hijacking the topic of a thread. If the OP (original poster) asks about a specific product or question, do not answer ‘get a [insert alternative product here] instead’ unless the OP has specifically requested alternative options. If you do not like a particular product, you must address it in a ‘pros and cons’ format. In other words, find a few good things to say about it – not just dismiss it out of hand because it is not to your personal tastes;
