Heta na Nihongo ga chotto dekimasu... Demo, saikin mainichi ni juppun-kan gurai benkyo shite imasu. Sore kara, Bumpo wa mada zenzen dame daro! Mo sugu musume no Nihongo wa hou ga umai da..Yes, I know - I need to study more. I'd love to be fluent, but while I can sometimes understand what is going on, my moments of clarity soon turn into a muddy puddle of - er - mud.

Your child will have an interesting life. ;D
Do you think you will let her cut with you? When she is older of course, I bet she could barely lift a tanto, lol.

Yeah, if she wants to.. (I have a feeling that she probably will, until it becomes 'uncool', lol ). But - one thing she will have no choice in until she is 16 will be she must train in some kind of Japanese martial art. My wife doesn't want her to do Kendo, so it will probably end up being Karate or Aikido (I would rather her do Aikido)..

That's freakin' awesome seeing kids that little practicing a sword art! Imagine the sort of skill they'll have when they are adults, assuming they stick with it. That's just too cool.

(officially, I'm not really aloud to go on a sword hunt this time around as it's really a visit for the Japanese side of the family. But I'm sure I'll be able to sneak off here and there)... If you KNOW where YOUR going, it is amazing how LOST you can get sometimes (wink, wink say no more . Paul, I am the holiday-reroute king, I'm so glad I am not alone mate. I do my research then every holiday we just, purely coincidently, sort of end up near or just happen to go past, an armory/museum/dojo/overseas sword retailer/castle-like structure and I just put on, the face. You will benefit greatly from developing a face that screams 'If I miss this its like flushing my soul down the toilet.' The first time, she'll laugh at you but after a while pity will grow then the power is yours . ;D ;D

Thanks Centurion. Slavia: I'll work on her... These things take time. Hehe. Chop: I'll keep that strategy in mind. (fingers crossed). I will definitely be taking a few detours here and there. Found a great site that details a few cool places to visit and quite a few are near the Osaka/Nara/Kyoto (Kansai) area I will be in: www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Palace/1135/sights.html

Yes! That site is a very good reference. I used it before I traveled to japan over 2 years ago and it really helped. Good to see that it is still up and running.
