Well, after sending out the June edition of the Digest it looks like there are still some problems with the PDF... The amount of people saying they couldn't open it is a bit less than last time, but I'm totally mystified as to why this is happening... (fricken Windows Vista and its serious compatibility is the primary suspect) As I said in an email to Shootermike - "I wish I had a life sized test cutting target of Bill Gates!:... Anyway, if anyone is having problems - just email me and I'll send you a simplified version. None of the links work, but at least it is readable... In the meantime, back to the drawing board........

Paul, do you mean that your windows Vista is causing problems? I have vista too, and I could read the old flip style, but I'm assuming you are having some problems there, yes? I've been contacting hp regarding driver problems, and they just say "here's the fix, go ahead this'll work" and the next day they wonder why I'm mad..... If you find any Gates dolls, buy two and I'll pay for the shipping from Aus!

Yep, I saw the email from Paul in my inbox and went, "WooHoo! The new digest is out!" A moment later that turned to a resounding, "D'oh!"

try downloading it and opening it. I have no probs with it. Windoze XP Pro, Acrobat6 pro. I'm on dialup so pdf it much better for me than acroflip cause I dont have 2hrs to wait for the pages to load I'm just wondering why so many people rushed to buy Vista. XP has been so stable for me 1 crash in 4 yrs and I REALLY push my comp with 3D work. BTW all the banks are still using W2000

Paul, I had an opening problem too, but I fixed it by saving it to my comp and opening it from there...

I haven't had the first problem with the digest since subscribing...three or four issues ago? I attribute my ease of computing to my Apple iMac and the wonders that are OS X and Safari, or in my case WebKit, which is essentially an ongoing Safari development. You should all get Macs.

Yuck, a mac?
And be able to run, what? 5% of computer software? Sorry, no thanks. And I also like my computer to stay functional. Any mac I've ever used has fallen apart. That includes all mac products, iPods included.

I've had far too many bad experiences with them to ever own anything apple again.

All a matter of personal preference. My iMac does everything I need and more. I also have BootCamp, though I never use it. As to falling apart, my iMac's lasted twice as long as any PC I've ever owned. Once again, all preference. I should see how ol' Windows Mobile handles the Digest. Have I mentioned I love this phone?

Oh no! The ever popular Mac vs. PC debate... ;D The only Mac I've ever used was an old Performa 640CD (PC compatible) that my sister left behind when she went to college. It seemed like a solid enough computer, but that's about all I can say as far as personal experience. My dad is the real computer geek of the family, and he builds himself a new PC every few years, so I get the old ones free (how cool is that?)! Plus, since I use AutoCAD for work, and 99% of the businesses I deal with use PC's, the choice for me was obvious. Mac makes some really beautiful computers nowadays that sound very functional, I just don't have a need for one at the moment. For personal usage, I say use what you like, screw what anybody else says. ;D

Oh no! The ever popular Mac vs. PC debate... ;D Better or worse than samurai vs knight? My grandfather is actually the most technologically advanced member of my family, even if he sometimes has to have me teach him how to use his new toys.
